  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do to the Gennie today?

There are topics on this, but try these:

I have the PlateFrame, in black (to match my car), though I should've gotten the ClearFrame in black in retrospect.

lol yeah, that's the nature of the beast here in FL during the summertime. I see in your signature that you completely reworked your sound system...what did you have done to it, is it a base model or tech/premium? Thanks :)

It has the premium and nav packages. Swapped out all door speakers and tweeters to Hertz HSK 165's powered by a memphis 75.4 amp, 2 DC Audio level 4's in the trunk powered by a Mmats 3000w amp. Everything is ran through a JBL MS-8 processor. Sound deadener has been applied in the doors, headliner, and trunk.

Nice, the only thing I thought about adding to the stock 17 speakers was a small sub (8-10" tops) and an AMP for it. I would like to use the "pass-through" area as it's port into the car unless that will make it sound bad. I have all the doors and back seat fully done in Dynamat, it added an additional level of noise isolation from the road and overall made the Lexicon system sound better IMO. Thanks for your reply :)

On a side note today my Genny went into the shop, not sure when I'll get her back. There has been a problem with a rattling noise from the right front passenger area of the car, it becomes increasingly more noticeable in the 30-45mph speed range as the road gets a bit bumpy (over a brick road you just wanna rip the right side of the car off to stop the noise lol). This is the 3rd time they have tried to find/isolate where the noise is coming from, they all hear the exact same thing I do. First time the technician thought it was the glove box so he insulated that according to the TSB. The 2nd time when it kept happening the service adviser and tech both went on a ride along and figured it was coming from the front passenger door panel / seat belt area, the tech took the panel off and tightened/lubed everything in the door and the track that the seat belt rides on. So now they think it's narrowed down to something to do with the Sunroof, which unfortunately means they have to pull down a portion of the headliner which I'm not thrilled about. Now normally rattles/squeaks etc. related to fit and finish aren't covered after the first 12k miles, but because there was a TSB on the first thing they decided to repair that is known to cause noises on that side of the car they are covering everything under warranty related to this issue. I'm going to guess that if whatever they try doesn't work this time it will be a noise that I will be stuck with from now till the car gets turned in on a 2014....that would truly stink if it comes down to that.

...

Yes, my subs are ported through the ski pass. originally I had them in a bandpass through the original stock sub location on top of the rear deck but there was way too much rattle. Since porting it through the ski pass, it is now much louder and rattles alot less. Everyone on here is always asking about my car so i plan on uploading a detailed thread with pictures and a walkaround sometime soon once i put my spacers on (need to grind my studs down first :(). Stay tuned everybody ;)

Being from SW Indiana I was in Chicago this week for a funeral. My low tire light went on ....due to cooler weather(very aggravating) so I stopped at Happy Hyundai on Cicero. They took it in, checked the tires for defects and determined it was the false alarm caused by cool air. They took care of it and gave it the best wash job inside and out. Awesome. Service person shook my hand said have a nice day......not 1 cent.
Talk about a classy dealership.

Installed exhaust tips that make the car look more powerful than it really is. (It's a V6). Even the guys at the muffler shop were impressed - and they would know. Tips came from Motor Sports Authority (msauthority.com). High quality product and great folks to work with.

What did you use to black out the rear chrome strip?

Also - you should paint your grill. Many others' on here have including myself, and I think it makes the vehicle clean looking. The silver grill clashes with the car.....unless it's a silver Genesis. Check out my albums.

I say no install of the front wing. I took mine off. Made the front look so much cleaner.

Here is my beef with the front wing...it looks like a ricer stuck it there because he wanted people to think it was a bentley. It looks out of place. Like it was never meant to be there. It isn't displayed, indented, or integrated into the body lines in any way. It is a sticker. Do. Not. Want. lol

Also curious what you used to black out the strip. Looks like plasti-dip or trim brite tape

Agree on the front wing, it just looks out of place in my eye's. YMMV. Same for the emblem on teh Equus, just looks out of place.

As for what I did for my Genney today, I dropped her off at the dealer for a 10K oil change, tire rotate and balance and told them about the stereo issues so they could order me a new one. Other than that, I'm enjoying her when I can get the wife out from behind the wheel.
