  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do to the Gennie today?

I put on the OEM Genesis Chrome door cladding on my 2012 3.8 base. It looks great on the Silver! If you do it find them on eBay, I got mine for $122 with shipping and had a local paint guy take mine off and installed the new ones for $40. I called Gerber Automotive and they wanted $60 panel for each for $240 total, what a rip off!

I cleaned up the Genesis yesterday. Washed and vacuumed. Took it out on an errand later and ran into a swarm of lovebugs. They plastered the front of the car. Needless to say I was cleaning up the car for the second time when I got home. All in all I can think of worse things I could have been doing.

Finally got my car back from the dealer. When i purchased my car few weeks ago, dealer decided to get it power polished. The result was just insane, swirl marks all over the car. Brought my car back last week and got it fixed, looks better then new, hopefully stays that way after i wash the car. Since my car only came with 1 key, manager also threw in an extra set of keys for the hassle i had to go thru. Great service so far!

After picking up the car, i replaced the hid's with some 6000k bulbs, removed the position light bulbs. Also replaced the high beams with some 2500k bulbs, and replaced the front signal bulbs with some silver ones to get rid of the ugly yolk look. Unfortunately dont have any pics but will take some soon.

Also bought a set of full leather steering wheel to replace the wood trimmed wheel, hopefully i can swap that out tonight.

Still trying to decide on the front emblem, lol.

Can confirm that the highest speed the cruise can be set at is 110...

I had my windows tinted and installed the roof spoiler. got the spoiler from "happybuyitnow" for $80, painted and shipped. This guy does awesome work!

I got her registered and plated, and removed the temp tag. Also made an appointment for tinting next Wednesday. Oh, and although late to post, I rebaged the wheels and trunk the other day. Not much more I plan to do besides keep her clean and break her in.

^ This.

I gave my Genesis a 42-song dose of good ol' Bluegrass music, via my 16GB micro USB flash drive.

She needs a good wash, and I planned on doing it today... but the thunderstorms are starting around lunch, and they'll be on and off through all of tomorrow :(

This might be the dirtiest my car has ever been (since I bought it).

I have most of Alison Krauss's tunes. What a talent she is. Check out the Willis Clan too. Caught their act at Dollywood in June.

Hey jnc.

So nice to be able to wash your baby indoors.

Yes - I'm fortunate to have that luxury. Gas fired heater keeps it nice and warm too... along with air movers, and proper exhaust fans it dries rather quickly. Perfect for those hot summer days (never wash in the sun), or clearing salt in below freezing weather.

I know it's a bit scary, but the plastic chrome side trim is easily installed in half an hour. You just need a plastic kitchen spatula or pancake turner to pop off the old body colored trim. See my earlier thread on this and other posters as well. This is the best upgrade of them all, IMHO!
