I know you've been around for a while - but since this was your first message - welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Just something to keep in mind: Most people don't share their positive experiences. When somebody has a bad one - one of the first things they want to do is tell the world. It's hard to get good reviews.Hey guys,
LONGTIME lurker, first time poster here. I’m currently cross-shopping a 2026 Genesis GV80 3.5T against a BMW X5. On paper, the Genesis wins hands down for me - the interior layout is beautiful, the ride is insanely smooth, and frankly, I like the styling a lot better than what BMW is doing with their grilles lately.
My massive hang up right now is the dealership experience.
My local dealer is still one of those shared Hyundai/Genesis setups. The sales floor felt okay, but when I walked back to peek at the service bay, it looked chaotic. I've read some horror stories online about people paying $75k for a car and getting treated like they’re servicing an Accent - no loaners available, weeks out for an oil change appointment, etc.
For those of you who pulled the trigger, how has the actual ownership/service experience been? Is it as bad as the internet makes it out to be, or am I overthinking this?
You did your homework and it paid off. I went to a further dealership as well, and got good results. And it is a Genesis/Hyundai dealership. It great when you find a good one. I have been happy for over 4 years. Mine is over an hour as well and they too gave me valet service. But to be honest, most of the time when it is just routine service, I drive there and wait. I retired and don't mind the drive and I get to look at the new models. Mine is SW of you in Naples Florida. I have two that are a closer, but that is where I purchased it and where I go for service. We recently purchased a GV80 3.5T.
I live near Ft Walton Beach where there is a combined Genesis/Hyundai dealership. I researched the faculty online and was left with an uneasy feeling. I visited just to check out their service center and was still unsure.
We have a Genesis dealership (not combined) in Pensacola. It’s an hour away, but was worth the extra few miles IMO. We purchased our vehicle there. They even honored the Genesis valet service. I was impressed with everything - better experience than Mercedes, etc. If it wasn’t for the Allen Turner Genesis stand alone facility, I won’t own a Genesis.
This is my own personal experience, others may vary.

Yes there are even bad stories at Lexus dealerships, and they're typically known for great service experiences. All brands have good dealerships and bad ones...
I have 2 Genesis dealerships within 15 miles of me. One is excellent, the other I wouldnt trust them with being to put fuel in the car.
I wish I had more time to do that, but I should probable try to make some.Well, it may take an actual service visit to get a true perspective. Or, perhaps you could just visit the service dep't waiting area to have some informal chats with other customers for their opinions and histories.
That's a good idea......You can also try getting an appointment with them an see how long it takes. Some have waited a month or so.
I hope you have a good one.
Thank you! I agree, most people don't go online to report great experiences.I know you've been around for a while - but since this was your first message - welcome aboard! Like with any brand, there are legitimate complaints - and you'll find them here and around social media. But I think it's safe to say the majority of Genesis owners are happy with their service experience...
Sure, but that doesn't explain the situation here in Canada. Unless that's strictly due to low sales here. I've had mine 2 years now and have seen only one other GV60 around here. The tariff situation in the US threw a major wrench into the product planning works at many manufacturers.
Given the typical multi-year development timeframe for most new cars, it’s a terrible time to be an automaker selling cars not built in the US, like the GV60.
Not just you, I was visiting the mothership (Korea) a couple of months ago. I saw tons of Genesis vehicles, lots of Ioniq 5s and exactly one GV60 during my 2 week stay in Seoul. I saw more new Ferraris than GV60s,lol.Sure, but that doesn't explain the situation here in Canada. Unless that's strictly due to low sales here. Ultimate range is much more of a “thing” for non-EV owners than it is for most actual EV owners, IMO. If you can charge at home, unless you drive more than 200 miles a day, range rarely actually matters. Not just you, I was visiting the mothership (Korea) a couple of months ago. I saw the car and driver article estimating 220 miles of range, man that is kind of sad given competitive vehicles with similar performance and specs have EPA ratings above 300 miles. I could be wrong but these are still EVs and range is still kind of a thing.
200 miles is great in the summer but as I am sure you already know it's as little as 60% of that range during cold winter day. So it's a thing for some of us.Ultimate range is much more of a “thing” for non-EV owners than it is for most actual EV owners, IMO. If you can charge at home, unless you drive more than 200 miles a day, range rarely actually matters.
The other thing is that the EGMP platform’s DCFC speed is so fast that a longer road trip often won’t take any longer in one than in an EV with longer range but slower charging…
As with anything else in life, to each their own. The biggest negative and deal breaker for me is what it did to the flow of the interior. For example, instead of the vents being hidden in the metal trim, they're now dropped down to the oval, which drops buttons onto the center console. The problem, for me, isn't function. It's aesthetics.I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you guys here. I felt exactly the same way until I actually lived with the new 27" setup in person.
The screen doesn't feel like an "iPad slapped on the dash" at all because it’s one seamless piece of curved glass - there’s no ugly black plastic seam dividing the cluster from the map. The OLED resolution is incredibly crisp, and the way the navigation stretches across the panoramic display looks amazing at night.
As far as glare goes, the anti-reflective coating is excellent. Plus, since you still have the physical click wheel on the console and dedicated buttons for the climate control, you rarely ever have to reach out and smudge the glass anyway.
Don't let the photos fool you. It completely modernizes the cabin and, honestly, makes the pre-refresh interiors look ten years old right away.
Hope this is what you are looking forBeen busy with the fires here. Coming hopefully tonight.

Some thoughts for you based on my experience.Thrilled to be part of this family and looking forward to contributing and sharing my thoughts regarding Genesis! I just purchased a 2024 G90 with 29k (non-CPO) and I'm amazed and pleased with the vehicle. Took the car to the local Genesis dealer for a recall; no issues, and the job was done perfectly (I really like this Genesis dealer service department). Anyway, the finance department quoted me almost $5k for a next 5-year extended warranty or 75k, but I still have almost 3 years and 20k miles of manufacturer warranty left on it. When's a good time to shop for an extended warranty, and from whom? TIA!#Family #Thoughts #Genesis #Vehicle #Recall #Service #Warranty #Miles

I read that the new version sources from Google in real time.As the subject says - getting attached messages after manually updating (May maps/update) the car. I let the Maps/MM OTA expire, b/c I don't mind doing this manually and I see little value in paying for it - but NOW, with this latest update, it seems to indicate that it uses online only and falls back to off-line maps only for connectivity issues... and even though (I checked) the Map OTA subscription doesn't say anything about this feature, I'm wondering - anyone else see these msgs? Or, am I the only one who let the Maps OTA subscription lapse? I _did_ dbl-check with the USB, says it's the same version as to what I have.

That is about $2900USD. way out of line. Any local mechanic can do a good brake job. Many sources for good parts also that they will use. Those rotors are about $200 to $300Genesis Dealership in Canada is quoting me a full brake job for my FV80 Premium 3.5L

BACK 556 180 310 1046

Are there any alternatives with the same or better brakes rotors for less price and same quality in stopping power and durability.
Sly bracketFinally got my plates. I found a license plate mounting kit in the glove box. But can’t figure out how to attach to front of 2026 GV60 without doing some drilling
Any help out there?
You probably do have to drill. There should be ... I think 3? divots in the front somewhere to drill and then use the included screws. Finally got my plates. I found a license plate mounting kit in the glove box. But can’t figure out how to attach to front of 2026 GV60 without doing some drilling

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Genesis G70! What did the G70 replace for you? I'm glad you found us.I recently purchased a low mileage genesis G70 3.3t sport prestige. I am very impressed with the quality, performance and overall bang for the buck. I'm looking forward to learning from current owners their thoughts on owning the G70.
