I just purchased a 2012 genesis 3.8 it has 40000 mi. I do not know what kind of oil they were using. I want to use syntetic , any problems swithing over with 40k on the car,. Thanks

This is the 2nd time I have removed the oil filter from my 2010 4.6 and it was crushed. One side of the filter is caved in and torn. Any idea what could cause this? I was very careful when replacing the filter cartridge. Anyone else seen or heard of this?

I'm an old guy so my experience with new cars goes back many years and into periods when manufacturing techniques were less quality than today, bujt I still do it because hey, its can't hurt. However..... I still avoid hard acceleration and braking and constant speeds for the first 1000 miles...
