  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

anyone done this jump? are you disapointed that you dint get the V8 again?

I did the jump and I'm glad I have the V-6. Plenty of performance for me and a lot better fuel mileage. I used to fill up weekly, now it is about 10 days between. I drove both the V-8 and V-6 before buying; the lighter V-6 definitely handles better than all that weight in the nose. It will also pay off later when I have to replace tires.

did you feel that the engine is noisier than the V8?

I'm happy with the 6, after my 2010 8. (I love the AWD too).

I agree that it is louder on acceleration. I would prefer the "latent power" quiet I had before, but the mileage hit for the 8 is too much for me.

I've had a chance to open my 2015 up a bit (~100) once, and it was just fine.

Moved last week from the 2012 V8 5.0 to the 2015 V6 Ultimate AWD. I had thought I would be disappointed, but I am instead impressed. Not as smooth in the early acceleration, and a bit noisier, as mentioned, but a small price to pay for not as much to pay! Manual shifting is downright scary....

I just recently bought the 5.0 Ultimate and I really love it. I had to take it to the shop for some warranty work and they gave me a new 3.8 to drive. I had it for almost a week and was really impressed. Honestly, if I had it all to do again I think I might go with the 3.8 (but still the Ultimate). The 3.8 shifts very smoothly through the gears and has more than enough power. I had several passengers who never noticed the difference in the ride.
