  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey, guys

I just recently bought a '10 sedan and I could of swear the 1157 bulbs came on with the running lights so I bought a pair of switchbacks and proceeded to install. I did the driver side ( while installing it ,ignition off, i could hear clicks in the engine bay) after i plug it in it would not work) now my driver side 194 bulb does not work but passenger's does. Any ideas, do they actually turn on with the running lights (otherwise why would they use a 1157 bulb). Thanks in advance

P.S. read thru and saw some pics but none of them show the 1157 bulb on with running lights.

I have switchbacks in my turns as well and tapping the turns to the DRLs is somewhere on my list. Here is the information I have so far from the FSM electrical wiring diagrams and mapping out the headlamp main connector (Which is the same pin-out left to right).

Pin 1 - High beam power
Pin 2 - Low beam ground
Pin 3 - Automatic Headlamp Leveling System (AHLS) ground
Pin 4 - Turn signal and high beam ground
Pin 5 - Unknown (Can only assume power for DRL and side markers)
Pin 6 - Adaptive Forward Lighting System (If equipped) signal
Pin 7 - AHLS power
Pin 8 - Turn signal power
Pin 9 - Low beam power
Pin 10 - AHLS power

I was going to run a tap wire from either pin 9 (So it would come on when low beams are on) or pin 5 (If this is really DRL/side marker power, need to verify with a multimeter) to pin 8 (turn signal power).

Mine's not equipped with DRLs, but this diagram is helpful. Pin #5 should be it, will check all fuses and go from there. Thanks for your time!!!!!!

By DRL I mean the little 194 bulb at the bottom of the high beam reflector, sometimes referred to as a city light. And you are most welcome.
