12.5 Map Update

2017 G80 purchased 8/2016. Have updated nav one time to 11.5. 12.5 ordered and scheduled to arrive 11/26. Will see how it goes.

Something that may effect your update: Do you have addresses in your Address Book? If so, will the update save them or do you need to backup the Address Book and do a restore with the Backup after the Nav Update?
 
It will automatically collect, save and reuse the same address book.

Have done once before with no problems. Hoping the update changes address book to “alpha” listing.

Noticed today the 12.5 map update is available for the 2017 G80 Ultimate. No download available. Ordered mine shipped via SD card.

Update installed today. Seemed to go OK. Car left mirrors closed and only one door unlocked the next time I restarted it. No idea what is up with that shouldn't be related.

Just installed v12.5 with no problems. Drove around for about 35 minutes.
 
Just got it in the mail today! This is number 4 update this year. I own a 2017 G80 Ultimate.

Currently not available. New Update Coming Soon.
Same here. Maybe the 2017 G80's are allowed more frequent updates? My 2018 was purchased in July 2018 and mapnsoft says Currently Not Available...

Also, I see the "Order" button on the website is grayed-out now.

They are crazy. Bought my 2018 in October of 2017. Last week I could have ordered the update but chose not to because I'm moving soon and wanted to be sure it did not get delayed in the mail with the move. Just went back after reading these two posts and it is saying "New update soon"
 
Thought it was odd that car was asking for access to messages on phone after 12.5 update. Sure enough can enable text messages to be displayed on nav screen. There are quick replies available as well. Doesn't work until it's enabled in the settings in the nav unit.

I think I mentioned it already might have been a different thread, but I called and opened a ticket about it, and the agent said they would contact the correct team and investigate and get back to me, which they did about 6 hours later and informed my that under the wording of the warranty my model (2018 purchased in June 2018) is not eligible for an update until 1 year from the anniversary of the purchase, so June 20, 2019. Shortly there after the button got greyed out.

I suspect they are still tweaking the site, up until last week I couldn't even enter my VIN. initially after I entered my VIN, the site indicated the update was available, then it was out of stock, then it was unavailable, now it is greyed out.

at this point I suspect they are still trying to get the site correct and tie it in with the VIN purchase dates.

I am due for an oil change in 2 weeks and I will ask the dealership then. When I went in for my first oil change I was on version 11 (map ver. 10.47.xx.xx) and they updated me to version (map ver. 11.41.xx.xx) , pretty sure they will update me again to version 12.5 (map ver,11.47.xx.xx) if I ask nicely.

Mr. Incredible...I agree with you. Until the mapnsoft site is synced with the Genesis reps and the new one year policy, there will continue to be exceptions where some owners are getting updates while others (like me) are getting the "no updates available" message with a grayed out order field. I plan to do what you are planning...get the next available update, 12.5 or whatever, thru my dealer at the 15K service. But I think they have to order the SD card part ahead of time. So, let them know and give them time to get it. These updates need not be this difficult or convuluted. Genesis has dropped the ball on this complementary service IMO.

only one of several balls they are juggling and have repeatedly dropped.

This is the reason I leased and didn't purchase my G80, was not sure where the company was headed and didn't want to get stuck with a major amount of negative equity in the car when I was ready to trade.

at this point unless things seriously change I will likely walk away from Genesis in 2021 when my lease is up. They have 2.5 years from my POV to figure this stuff out, given it has already been technically 2 years, I am not holding my breath.

Go ahead and click on the purchase button. I tried it last night and it was willing to let me purchase another.

Also check and see if you are ablocking the site. Some adblockers will disable your capability of utilizing the JavaScript used to negotiate the order process button.

Sometimes you have to turn off the anti-virus protection to allow it also.
