18'' Base Gen Wheels on RSpec

Just an FYI 18'' base gen wheels will NOT clear the calipers on an RSpec. The dumbass that i bought these off of assured me they would clear, but I don't think he was aware that he was rubbing for the whole winter he had them on (refer to image below). So if you're planning on buying base wheels for winter or whatever, for your RSpec, you will need 3mm spacers.

Nothing fits over the calipers on the RSPEC. Tried steelies, and tried rally aftermarket wheels for the 6cyl Genesis, and they didn't work. 1010tire.com says the the choice of wheels, in a reasonable price range, is very slim for the RSPEC. Thankfully, they got me a set that do fit over, and they are not cheap, but not expensive either, as rally wheels go.

These fit in 18x8 with spacers in the front and a tiny amount of work on the caliper with a file. Before anybody reacts to that last statement, the tech did that metal removal in 5 minutes and didn't charge for it. 20,000 miles later, I like the handling of these as dedicated winter wheels better than my 19" OEMs because they are very light.

I've got some Blizzacks and some 18" wheels coming from tire rack that should be delivered tomorrow. I called and talked with someone there and (after checking), he said it was a guaranteed fit. We will soon see.

Hopefully the design of your wheels will work, the base model gen's design just doesn't stick out far enough for the calipers. 3mm is all it took to make them work, that and, considering the amount of space the previous owner shaved off rubbing all winter haha

1010tires.com told me that my new wheels would fit, and they did, so i would expect the same from TireRack.com
