That may be true, but many people do not want to mess with snow tires in the winter, including myself (luckily, I no longer live where it snows a lot, so the Genesis is fine for me). If that is the case, FWD or AWD is advisable, since the vast majority of people who live where it snows can get by without snow tires with FWD or AWD, assuming they get decent all-weather tires.
There are some exceptions, such as the rear engine, RWD Porsche cars.
The thing is, it does not snow everyday. Snow tires are a waste of fuel in the winter when it does not snow. However, I absolutely advise against going out on snow days without snow tires, especially for a rwd car.
