2010 V8 - Driver seat - cooling / heating problem

My driver seat heater (and now cooler) turns itself off if set to 3rd/2nd levels after 2-3 minutes of driving around. The buttons go dead - no light, no reaction to pressing. Takes the car restart to get it working again, and again just for a couple of minutes. Does not happen if the car is parked - only when driving. When cooler / heater set to level 1 - it works just fine.

Has anyone experienced same problem? And if so any clue as to what the solution was?

Yes, there is a fix for it. Some tubes in the seat get crushed by your weight and cause the system to overheat. Springs or protective tubing must be installed by your dealer (there is a tech bulletin for this). Hyundai is aware of the problem. I did spend the whole winter with this problem and they recently installed the fix. Since then the problem has not re-occured...

fat ass! ... seriously --- your butt is crushing some of the piping. Take it to the dealer ... or 24Fitness

if 150 lbs crush some pipes in this thing, i'm not sure how it is designed to handle an average burger-fries eating population...

Do we know what the tech bulletin # for this issue is? Just want to avoid the dealer to play a complete idiot and claiming that there's none.

ALSO... regarding cooling. I do remember reading somewhere here that back of the seat should be cooled too. I'm pretty sure that my seat doesn't. Is it the same crushed pipes issue that prevents cold air from going to the back of the seat?

Very clever observation. You are right! The problem is not in the seat or the size of your butt (sorry Mr. Fitness...) but in the back. This is where the tubing get crunched.
