If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2011 Price Paid

If it is color combo you want and you have driven and are satisfied with ride, go for it. The other wild card is the exchange of the Dunlop Tires. For me, that exchange came out of my pocket via an independent tire dealer.

First time poster and new to the Genesis family.

Got mine for $35800 + ttl (excl. $1500 Competitive Bonus Cash back) in North Texas.

Pearl white, camel interior, tech package V6 with skylink.

IS the stock Dunlop really "that" bad ? hmm, well I'm used to high performance tires (Bridgestone's RE11, Potenza 960A/S pole position, Dunlop 8090, etc)

but for a sedan, I guess it make sense to have something more comfy

if it comes with Dunlops, which is Ultra high performance all season, I probably gonna sell it out and get myself something else. I think Bridgestone's Alenza might be a good choice. Kumho's Ecsta LX Platinum is not a bad choice either, cuz it comes with 3 yrs or 2/32" road hazard warranty, best to use in places like NYC, potholes are every freaking where.

I traded in my Dunlops for Bridgestone Serenity's as soon as I got car home. W rated tire and a better riding tire. I will give up a little gas mileage though according to tire dealer. Others love their Conti DWS tires as well.

I heard of Conti DWS, it's great tire I heard. I wonder how does it compare to the now stock Michelin's Energy Saver A/S

Swaroop81,

You said North Texas, what dealership? Is it in the Dallas Metroplex. I am shopping in the that region and think you got a pretty good deal, was interested in perhaps checking out that dealership.

guys, when you say "Can get it 37250 out the door" does that include everything like Destination charge and Incentives ?

for a 2011 V8, I wanna ask them to do 37K b4 any of those, is that too much to ask ? :)

Thx

NYCGPS,

"Out the door price", or sometimes referenced as "drive out price", as I define it is the bottom line price. All discounts, taxes, destination costs, documentary fees, etc.

If you can get a 2011 4.6 for $37k + TTL that is a very good price.

You can without breaking a sweat (the T in TTL is taxes, btw)

the dealership has a 399 doc fee so basically is

36760 + 399 + tax = total. if they give me a good trade I just gonna transfer the plate over. Let's hope so.

sounds decent, right ?

Purchased in St. Louis MO area.
2011 4.6 Genesis, $37500, $199 doc. fee.
I offered 37500, asked for dunlops to be replaced with Michelin A/S energy savers. The dealer would only change the tires at an additional $1000 cost, unwilling to give credit for dunlop tires. I pursued similar tire deals at Dobbs and was quoted just under $1000. So I decided to drive the Dunlops for now and get some snows in November. Happy with the deal.
Later that night I had to make a high speed run to the hospital with my pregnant wife. Her water broke and contractions came fast and furious. Baby girl 6lbs 6oz at 01:02 a.m. Almost didn't make it. Sure was a smooth ride getting there. Loving the car.

Congrats on the addition and hope that all is well. Great car for sure. An independent tire dealer will give you credit for the Dunlops. I did get a $300 credit so tire swap was $500 and well worth it. Big difference in ride quality.

Congrats on the two new additions to your family, both the car and baby will be keeping you up at night. I bet you will keep checking the baby in the crib and the other baby in the garage throughout the night :)

In previous post, 37500+199 doc. Fee.
While I was there doing paperwork I overheard someone else buying a 4.6 for 38700. So, I feel like it was a good deal for me. I held out for $500 more than they originally offered for our trade. Happy with the deal.
