  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Coming from the Theta II optima i have learned that GDI tends to cause a bit much of oil to gather, and being that the genesis is also gdi i decided to put my oil catch can on the genesis 5.0 r spec. ill be keeping up with this weekly to show the amount of build up in oil the catch can obtains. Pictures of the setup and location will be posted shortly!

Looks good brotha, how long did the install take? Looking forward to the results!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
it took a little longer than expected usually takes about 10 min. but we had some difficulties in finding a place for fitment. i actually dislike this place because i have to remove the whole catch can inorder to empty it out. in the near future with the intake i think this would be less of a hastle... i hope! really sad on how much room is available on the genesis 5.0 r spec 2012

Where are the tubes running?

It looks great, how much oil did it collect?

Do you have a parts list or install instructions?

I ordered my parts today. I have been considering this after switching out my intake with an aftermarket CAI.

There was a small amount of what appeared to be oil collected up just inside my throttle body in the intake runner and a small amount of black soot on the throttle body flapper itself.

Good to see that someone else has already done an install.

do you mind sharing a parts list, I would like to perform this also

As soon as my parts come in and I make sure of the install location and hardware, I will post a DIY.

Can you take some pictures of where the hoses go?

Did the catch can ever solve the problem? I'm getting an occasional puff of oil when accelerating. Wife unit even noticed it when leaving a stop light. Had to add half a quart between oil changes this time and it's down a full quart now. That's a quart and a half in 3000 miles. If the PVC service/clean can't solve the problem then it looks like a piston ring problem.
Yes, mine is an early 2012 with 55000 miles.
