Getting familiar with the group...
Hello! Just some background information:
I bought this car two weeks ago. During my test drive, I noticed multiple rough shifts from 2nd to 3rd. I bought it anyways, thinking maybe I was being too sensitive. Fast forward a few days, there was a loud CLUNK sound as I accelerated. I brought it into the dealership last week and they confirmed the CLUNK sound and the rough 2nd to 3rd gear shift. They told me they will replace the transmission under warranty (but I will have to pay for the transmission oil) and that they will call me when my transmission comes in. Unfortunately, I had to go to the dealership again this morning to have my driver's window looked at (I can hear wind noise coming into the cabin when I drive. Not sure how I never noticed this before). Right when I was about to pick up the car after work, they gave me a call and said my transmission had arrived. They told me to hold onto the loaner car and they will call me when the transmission swap is done.
My car always had a high pitch sound (maybe a whining or grinding sound) when driving and coasting to a stop so maybe that was a sign the transmission was going bad? Hopefully, the transmission replacement will solve that noise issue for me.
I will keep everybody posted on the outcome! I miss driving my Genesis
However, they did give me a 2015 Hyundai Elantra to drive around! I was hoping for a 2015 Genesis or a 2015 Sonata, but oh well!
