2013 offers R-Spec with Cabernet Red and Black Interior....

There are very few Cabernet Red/ Black leather combos of any year. As a matter of fact, I have looked and never seen another one. When I got mine in June of 2010 there were none in the country. The folks at the Hyundai Think Tank finally found one on a boat from Korea and I waited 4 weeks for it to come in. They then shuttled the car down from the port in Boston where it came in to Greenville, SC. When they printed the Moroney sticker it lists me by name as the ship to location rather than the dealer. The dealer said that he had never seen anything like it. I used the Circle program and the Costco program together to get a super price and a $500 Costco cash card to boot.

Technically, the DEALER told him what a "Hyundai rep" conveyed to him. That my friend, is hearsay. Further, a "Hyundai rep" could have been the kid that washes cars in the back.

Not saying that it isn't available, but having been in the auto industry for 25+ years, I have heard many stories about how cars get special ordered with option combinations not even available, (your hard earned money deposited), and the cars show up completely different than what was ordered.

I would hate to see that happen to a member here, that is all I am saying. Merely a cautionary tale. If that is the color combo he has his heart set on, I hope it comes to fruition for him.

I contacted Hyundai Motors myself and received an answer back today.

We have been informed Cabernet Red exterior color for the 2013 Genesis R-Spec has recently been in production and will be available for sale in the USA. This is a recent update for the 2013 Genesis models and the Hyundai Dealerships may not have this color in stock as of yet. Please contact your local Hyundai Dealership to check availability.

And they have an order for at least one of them. The dealer is being told delivery in late January or early February. That would be fine, but I'm not holding my breath. Early April would also be fine.

Seems I've got her twin sister, down to the mudguards; they were a port installed option as was the now removed sunroof deflector.

BTW, Anyone out there interested in a brand new sunroof deflector? It's priced to move!!

And Besides, why would one not believe and dealer and the Hyundai Website? It's only a Fricken Car Color...We're not talking Leprechauns here.
