  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Extended Warranty Price & Value

Radio and audio systems (i.e., radio, compact disc player, DVD player, navigation system and Bluetooth®): for MY 15 and prior, 3 years/36,000 miles—Equus: 5 years/60,000 miles

I was told that the reason for the 3/36k warranty on the radio is because that is what Lexicon warranties their products for, so I guess Hyundai is just passing the warranty along, so to speak.

Really, you believe what a car salesman says (at HMA or the dealer)?

When a car manufacturer contracts with a vendor (in this case Harman International) they can specify whatever warranty they want, and the vendor will figure that into the prices they charge Hyundai.

Starting in 2016, Hyundai changed their warranty for their infotainment systems on all their cars from 36 months - 36K miles to 60 months - 60K miles. What does that tell you? It tells you it was a Hyundai decision, not a vendor decision.

The only exception was Equus, which already had a 60 months - 60K miles warranty on the Lexicon system (a marketing decision).

Can anyone post the information about where (which dealership) to get a good deal on the extended warranty?
I remember seeing a discussion once where people had posted where and how much they paid and some contact numbers too. But, I can't seem to find that thread again.

Try these two:
  • Stefan Andreozzi at First Hyundai in North Attleboro, MA.
  • Haub Cao at Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta, GA.

Just purchased extended warranty for 2015 Genesis 3.8L..100k/5 years/0 deductible for $950 from First Hyundai..Serena Mariani (North Attleboro, MA). Previously best price I was quoted from different dealerships was $1500..

Was that 5 years, or 10 years. Most people are wanting a 10 year - 100K for an extended warranty.

The 5 year would be great for me as I put over 30k miles per year on mine.
