  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've owned a car with a 775hp V8 and I'm happy with my V6 Genesis and tell people all the time - they don't need the V8... So?

I've had the 3.8 and the 5.0 and yes, the v8 is more responsive and accelerates faster than its counter part but both do a great job especially paired with the transmission. It's still a 4000+ pound car with 330 whp (assuming 20% parasitic loss). Compare the whp of the v8 and the fact that the v6 actually puts to the wheels much closer to its advertised hp rating and the v8 is not so monumentally different. It does behave differently and perform like I mentioned above but come on, it's not like people that buy the v6 are any less performance focused than the v8 guys.

This is not a fast car. Period.
