  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know what insurance discounts would be applicable to the 2015 Genesis? I have a 3.8 AWD with Tech and Signature packages. Right now, I am only getting discounts for Passive Restraint, Anti-Lock Brakes, Anti-Theft Device .

I assumed that with all the safety features that I should be getting more discounts than the same ones my 2001 Acura TL have. :)

If anyone has any input on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

hummm...all i know is my insurance (nationwide) went up 200 smackers (per year) when i dropped the regal...and added the genesis!! so i switched to liberty mutual to get my premium back down to what it was pre-genesis! :D

State Farm did the same to me when I switched from my Sonata to the Genesis..I switched to Geico and got my premium down below what my Sonata was! :p

I got a discount when I showed proof of having Bluelink which allows tracking of the car.

Allstate went crazy with my 2014 Genesis.
I too am switching to Liberty Mutual.
Been with Allstate over 30 years, no accidents or claims and no tickets.
Will save big with Liberty Mutual.

Changes in the insurance rates for Genesis of that magnitude must be based on statistical information they have about claims by customers with the Genesis. I blame the R-Spec owners, and all those people complaining about max speed of the car.

I would more likely blame the exorbitant costs to fix all this new technology and crushable metal and plastic on the car. One small hit and you are in the thousands.

I emailed my amica agent the info on the automatic braking, lane departure, and blue link and saved $40 a year.

I have Texas Farm Bureau insurance and have the same full coverage on my Genny and Mom's 2003 Grand Cherokee. The Genny is $15 per six month period higher than the Jeep and the same as my previous '13 Avalon.

Age of driver also a very important factor... a 20 something will pay a higher premium than a 60 yr. old :)

C. Report suggests you should get ins. bids every few years especially if you have not done this in several years. My ins. went up about $200 a year when moving from a 2012 Azera to the Genny. I have been with American Fam. Ins for 25 years for all my ins. needs and after checking with many competitors A.M. was still $200-500 CHEAPER overall.
Always review your coverage...many hidden thing you may not need IE. towing--you don't need it because we have free roadside assistance....also check to see what miles you drive.....you could be paying more because your ins. has you listed a higher mileage....

My insurance actually dropped when I switched to the Genesis from the Q50. Probably because they put the Q50 in the sports sedan category...

My collision went up $100/year and comprehensive went up the same amount over my old Audi A6. Considering my Audi was worth $4K, that's not bad.

As for comprehensive, consider what taking a rock to a $2K windshield will do to your insurance company.
