  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis Reporting Issues/Recommendations

The voice part of the navigation need lots of work! I've had the exact experience as you describe.

I think the whole electronic A/V system has to be viewed as a "work in progress"

It would be nice to program the system so that the display comes up with a default screen that you prefer and use most. And certainly NOT the goofy warning screen.

And, if you like the concept of voice recognition, in general, the voice system should be "trainable" to recognize a particular voice, and to allow one to create specific commands. For example, there are only a few voice commands for the radio, and nothing at all to turn the thing off - at least as far as I could find.

Lastly, the A/V documentation booklets are pretty awful - mainly a list of what the buttons do, and not really how to accomplish a task - start to finish.

Face it - under all the hype, the automotive industry is in its infancy when it comes to importing high tech electronics into the automotive environment.

It reminds me of when the industry first adopted transistor ignition systems in the '70's. Chrysler, in particular, did wonders for the towing industry, when the things started to fail in real world conditions.

But, not to worry - in five years when you buy your new Genesis, all the bugs will be worked out.

I have a lifetime of experience in tech - and I can readily appreciate what the industry is trying to do, and what they need to do.

I find the voice command system almost useless for navigation. Its interface with my android is much better but not perfect. The Nav vocabulary is to limited.

I didn't have nearly the trouble with my BMW taking voice commands for an entire address (I could voice string the entire address) and I would give it a good 90% of the time it was correct and accurate. I also had similar, but not as good with my Lexus. Hyundai is by far my worst experience for addresses (other commands work fairly well). It rarely works for addresses but placing calls, stating phone numbers, etc. works most of the time.

Although I appreciate the help offered by other forum participants, please understand I have already contacted the Genesis Customer Care Center regarding the Navigation Voice Recognition problem. Explained it explicitly. All I received back was a short email message with a brief paragraph saying that Hyundai takes such concerns very seriously. I was then assigned a case # and told someone would be contacting me directly within 3 to 5 business days. It has now been 8 days and I am still counting.

Meanwhile, I also was referred to 3 area dealerships. Unfortunately, I had already visited the closest to our home (i.e., one with whom I have been doing business for years per our 2011 Genesis). To say the least, the service manager's response was very disappointing. After trying several times to get the system to work, he was not successful and did not know what to do. Hence, I got the typical spin/double-talk about sending the problem up the chain of command to Hyundai corporate.

Finally, speaking personally, I think Hyundai has a serious problem here which needs to be addressed, and very soon. This is a terrible reflection on a company which has tried to improve it image over the last several years.

Just finished a 3000+ mile trip with speeds of 75+, tires never increased more than 5 psi. These pressures are more in line with shipping pressures used to stop vehicle bounce when secured.

Any update on this knocking noise my car has developed it thanks .Mac

Did you see the other post in this issue.. You may have birds if a feather with same issue.

If I'm not mistaken, Mac West became frustrated with the thunk and traded his car in.
