If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had my steering colum replaced twice because of a end play issue when the temperature is I under 75 degrees you can't feel the end play in the wheel. When the temperature is lower you could feel the end play . You don't feel the end play if you push on the wheel vertical but if you pull horizontal right to left you can feel the end play. I pointed out this issue to the dealer and had them check other 2015 Genesis on there lot and all of the Genesis had the same problem. I live in New York it was 63 degrees that day , the dealer verified the issue contacted Hyundai and is waiting for a repair fix . If appears to be a bearing that is heat sensitive and expands when it is warm. I checked a Equise an Azera with the powered colum and none of them had this problem only on my Genesis and the other Genesis in the lot . I know that this is a manufacture defect if it is on other Genesis and possibly be a safety issue too . Hyndai has to fix this issue this should not be on any car regardless of price. Check your Genesis if you have the same issue don't let it get pass the dealer. I will also contact Hyundai myself let them know I won't let this issue drop until they find a fix for this.

been there done that, dealer said it was normal, didn't really seem to give a crap. told me they were going to contact the regional rep to make an apt for me to bring the car to that person and that information would be in the stuff they mailed me from my service visit. it wasn't. but the comments were funny.....functioning normal was the gist of it.

I plan to call them back and grip about it. Funny too....they brought around another Genesis and the wheel was even worse then mine and they called it normal. I was like uhhhhh no....this is a safety problem.

nice to know that, just like the sunroof seal, trying to replace it is a moot point and Hyundai needs to get a proper fix.

You know for 50 something thousand....I expected little things like this to not exist. I'm getting a little disappointed with the car for the price. maybe I expect too much for my hard earned money.

On July 13, 2015 I had my 3.8 in for the 128 campaign recall for the rear light. I had only a small amount of end play but ai asked the dealer to evaluate it. The service tech said that this was normal and in fact he had a Elantra that had way more end play and he was good with it. He assured me that this does not represent a safety hazzard

Does the '15 Genesis have a 3-position steering feel setting, like I have in my '14 Santa Fe Sport? I find that the SPORT setting has the worst feel. I use the COMFORT setting which requires the least corrections to keep the car going straight ahead.

Equise? I think I may trademark that.

is this tied to the powered column because i haven't noticed this on my base genesis which has a manually adjustable column?

I have no issues with this on my 5.0 Ultimate.

No problem whatsoever on my 5.0, hopefully not a widespread issue.

I had the end play issue repaired by a Hyundai regional service tech after I contacted Hyundai customer service and got a case number and within two weeks the problem was solved. no one should take that BS from a dealership as I told the regional Hyundai customer service at the price of this car it should air tight no end play.

The regional Hyundai service tech installed a shim kit to the column that had the end play a few day later. I checked some of the other genesis on the lot some of them that had end play in the steering columns had the shim kit installed. I am not the most popular person at he dealership but they know when I bring my car in I will check that service is done properly. (all nuts and screws are put back all work done shown on invoice).
