  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate's audio system has been making a "popping" noise for the past few months. It's mostly when listening to BPM, but occasionally happens when listening to Hits 1. Even when I rewind a song after hearing the "pop" the noise comes up. Any ideas what's going on?

I've attached a small YouTube clip I took of it recently.

Bump.

I was driving home this evening and the noise happened too many times to count. It was on Hits 1, The Pulse, KIIS - Los Angeles, BPM, and Pitbull stations. Even rewinding a song brought up the popping noise in the same spots of the song. Meanwhile, streaming Bluetooth audio, playing a CD, and HD radio were all fine. This was on a 55 minute drive.

Anyone else experienced this yet?

funny i thought i was the only one, this happens to me as well only when listening to XM, weather BPM or Area...pop in a CD or listen to regular radio I never hear it. I think it's attributed to the Satellite feed...makes sense as its only from that source. It doesn't happen that much for me to investigate thoroughly but it could get annoying.

It's happening in my 2012 also. I think that XM is having some interference that is causing the pop sound. I noticed it on ch-2 but not on other stations.

My wife and I noticed the popping on Ch2 today many times in our 2015 3.8 AWD Ultimate

I've noticed as well when only listening to SiriusXm. Most likely has to do with the signal like others have mentioned.

I never hear that popping sound when listening to FM, iPod, bluetooth streaming, etc.
