My last car was the 2012 5.0 R-Spec RWD. Current car is the 2015 5.0 AWD. I can say that the difference in useable power to the ground is astounding. On the 2012 I never really felt able to use full throttle off the line without the "nanny" abruptly cutting in to stop the madness. Even without having the drive wheels slip, pull enough G-force with acceleration and the "nanny" arrives…
The AWD combined with "sport" mode enables me to mash the throttle without any signs of the "nanny" whatsoever - just pulls and revs to the redline.
All the horsepower or torque in the world won't matter if the computer refuses to allow it to go to the pavement - and I'm not one to disable the system by pulling a fuse. Just give me a car that will go! My 2015 makes me smile!!
