  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Attempting to install a loc in my 2016 genesis. I think it has the 17 speaker system not 100 percent sure. Trying figure out which wires on the harness to tap into for a subwoofer install. I think the pink I cut into on the white harness was the remote. But my grey harness doesn't match any of the pictures or diagrams I can find out there. I have attached pictures. 20190712_194400.webp20190712_194346.webp

Do you have the center console control knob for the radio, if so then yes you have the 17 speaker system(premium). If not, then you have 14 speaker system(non-premium)

I personally would use wire taps as opposed to splicing your stock wires.

Here is a diagram for the 14 speaker and 17 speaker setup.

I have the 14 speaker system. However I only have 3 connectors. The gray and white one pictured above. I also only have one sub.

The Genesis only have one sub, however your single sub has two channels hence the two inputs(sub 1 and 2). I only posted one page for the 14 speaker system, however on page two it shows pin# 25(- )woofer 2 and pin# 26( - )woofer 1. I would just pick either woofer 1 or 2 and tap a sound signal for the LOC.

The Genesis only have two wired connectors as seem on the diagram. Your 14 system has no wires or a connector for B, just A and C is wired. It is confusing how Hyundai labeled your 14 speaker diagram since there is no connector B.

I found that diagram before I made this post. The issues is my harness are both labeled 1-22 for pins. Neither go over 22. Why I'm having such a hard time. See better close up picture of the harness.

The wiring harness has some empty sockets without pins as label in the diagram , so just go by the 14 speaker diagram wire placement and it should work out fine.

Tip: The sub output is on the white connector with the ACC wire you spliced per the 14 speaker diagram I posted. Take your time and position the harness to look like the diagram to ensure that you are using the correct wires.

Hmm. Maybe I'm just retarded and cant read the chart. But is the power and ground counting as three individual pins when it is really only one due to size or do I just skip the blanks all together and only count the pins that has something listed on the diagram to find the number on my harness. I'm trying to figure out what pin 26 is on my harness when my harness doesn't surpass 22 wires altogether. Maybe I'm over complicating it.

Just turn the wire connector so that the release clip is facing down and then look at the wire diagram. Make note of the wire pin placement and blank slot placement and then go from there. Simple. The 13 pin and 26 pin should the two pins on the right side of the connector which should be the green and brown wires. Pin 13 should be green and pin 26 should be brown which are sub 1(voice coil one) inputs.

Note: My knowledge is based on the 2015 5.0 model wiring harness, the 2016 model may be configured differently. The diagrams I posted are for the 2015 5.0 model, so you may need to obtain the 2016 harness diagram to account for changes. Region changes may have to considered as well. I have an North American model.

Was this situation ever resolved? I’m in a similar situation with the exact connections you have.
