On some reveals, Hyundai has been notoriously secret.
I don't know why you think they would know about changes. If there are any changes, expect them to be minor. Is it odd that two dealers have said the 2016s should be out in August or September, and no one knows any specifics about the changes? I'm looking to buy one this fall, and any changes make a difference on whether I am planning for the 2015 or 2016.

I have yet to see a redesign even ever so slight after a single year. About the only thing they will do is have all the tsb's and recalls done and deliver them with Michelins/Continentals. I seriously doubt they will add fog lights or anything else for that matter but you never know. They also sometimes offer a few different color choices which may very well happen.
In the US they already have fog lights standard on the V8. Some people who have a V6 Ultimate think they should have fog lights also. That is a pretty easy change, since it is just a configuration change, not an engineering change.I have yet to see a redesign even ever so slight after a single year. Hyundai does not want you to wait. They want to you to buy a Genesis immediately since dealers have plenty of inventory of 2015's.I didn't mean the dealer would necessarily know, simply that I'm surprised that Hyundai hasn't released any information and none has leaked out.
I'm not looking for a refresh or redesign obviously. But if they had that tan/black interior that was being floated around at one point, fog lights on the V6, the DRLs modified, and Android Auto installed.... that would be a reason for me to wait on the 2016 to be released. If all they do is add another shade of gray/champagne paint and fix some recalls, I'll take the 2015 for a slightly lower price.

If they were smart, they would make it so it could be an easy dealer-installed accessory. That way HMA could keep from increasing prices, but those who want fog lights will make it very profitable for Hyundai and dealers. They all should have fog lights on a car of this caliber no matter what the model just like in Canada. The issue is it costs money to add them which does not mean they will not be stock in the future however expect the cost to be hidden in an increase of the car if they add them. Nobody gives stuff away any more.![]()
What you described sounds more like an Azera to me. I didn't know the 2016 Genesis was out yet.I saw my first 2016 Genesis today inj Austin. I saw it only from the rear; we were in traffic and we could not get ahead of him.
It was a dark blue or black sedan (getting dark out). Still had the "H" on the trunk. "Genesis" on right side of the trunk lid and nothing on the left side. No engine size indicated.
The tail lights are VERY different from my 2015. Big clear back-up lights in middle of tail light and a horseshoe of little red leds serving as the stop/tail light. There is a chrome (or aluminum) trim across the lid from tail light to tail light, just above the license plate.
I don't really like the new tail lights but would accept them if there are other improvements in the car. I do like the little bit of bling ob the trunk lid.
If it was an Azera, then the owner had obtained a Genesis badge and put it on the trunk lid. It was there loud and clear and I had my wife pull us up to about 10 feet behind him so I could not be mistaken. It was on the right side and I thought that was odd. It's not out yet. That describes the back of the Azera.
Even if it was a Genesis and had wings on the trunk, someone would have had to obtain the wings and put it on, since the USA version comes with a flying H.If it was an Azera, then the owner had obtained a Genesis badge and put it on the trunk lid. If it was a falsely badged Azera, I'm relieved because I thought the taillights were ugly.
That and the fact that I literally got an email from Hyundai on Tuesday saying they didn't even know when the information on any changes for 2016 would be released.
