  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys,

Please excuse the noob for asking questions that may have been answered before. I wasn’t able to find them easily through the search function.

Just got a 2016 Tech 3.8 (loving it so far) and am trying to figure out how to control music on my phone via the system. If I play something on the phone through Bluetooth it works fine, but I can only skip forward and backwards in the folder or specific song selected on the phone. If I plug in via the USB, I get an error message on the phone stating "The connected device is unable to access data on this device...". Phone calls and Pandora work fine. I would love to be able to control the music on my phone when charging via the USB.

Also, are there any other apps available to download? When I check I only see a Hyundai notification app. Truly disappointed at the missing android auto.

Thanks. Great forum by the way.

Welcome! Congratulations on your new Genesis! I'm moving this to the Hyundai Equus Audio, Bluetooth and Electronics Technology forum where somebody can answer your question.

I had this same problem after my nav system was uparaded by dealer. My situation resulted in me downloading multiple songs and then moving them around to subfolders on my phone. I resolved my problem by re-creating a Music folder in the main directory instead of subfolders on my phone. Samsung-Galaxy 5. I un-paired then repaired the bluetooth connections in car and on phone, and Viola & Ta Daaa audio now fully supported again while USB connection charges.

Thank you for you reply 'smiles' I currently have a music folder in the root of the phone and also one in the root of the SD card. Can I put folders inside those for specific albums, or do I need to just keep all the mp3's in that one Music folder?

Thanks again for your time.

Doesnt seem like any of this works. When I press the media button with the S7 plugged into the USB, I get a "This device does not support media function" message on the Genesis display. Will have to try my wifes S5.

I only use the native music player on my s5 and the actions I mentioned before, not Google, tends to jump during play. Also, use the root music folder, I only use my sd card for heavy ram apps not storage, the phone is connected to my other devices so switching out tunes is done when at home using my wifi. I do not know much about the S7, it's still too expensive for me. Good luck chris.
