  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi I'm about to close tmrw on a new 2016 Genesis 3.8 4d in Manhattan brown. Loved almost everything about it especially it's design. However when I was test driving it felt like the front windshield is oddly small, it didn't seem like I had much front vision. And this is coming from an elantra owner, where the glass seems twice as big.

My question is if that is something that I will just get used to or am possibly overthinking about? I enjoy seeing the beautiful California landscape when I'm driving. It's probably the same size on 2015s as well.

Yeah, get used to it. It's the same thing I noticed, switching from first generation of Genesis to 2nd.

Welcome to the "european look" in cars - lowered glass - supposed to be stylish & maybe safer.

Used to be called the "gangsta" look - dangerous in my opinion - but then, that's why they gave you all those wonderful radar/sonar gadgets. Right.

OP, try increasing the height of the seat, you will feel much better.

am possibly overthinking

No visibility issues here.

Make sure you have insurance coverage on the windshield...it's pricey to replace if it gets cracked...

About $1,400 and over a week to be delivered. I was glad I have zero deductible glass (some states require it).

I have the driver's seat adjusted all the way up, and I've never had a problem with front visibility. I'm about 6' 2" (188 cm for the Canadians). In most cars I have the driver's seat adjusted all the way down, but the Genesis has more than enough headroom.

I do have some problems with side visibility because I also have the seat adjusted almost all the way back (B-pillar blocks my side visibility), but that's the same with every four-door car I've driven. I've learned to adapt and look out the back window when merging or yielding to make a right turn.

this car has has more than enough room.. Plus with the normal or extended seat exit option its a nice feature to have.. this is a large car...

Ditto on glass coverage... I got hit by a rock and OEM replacement was $2300! Non-Hyundai service manager said it was most expensive winshield he'd ever seen.
