I understand now. Thank you for explaining.Waze has much more granular traffic reporting (all surface streets are valid traffic reporting) and it has a more up-to-date road conditions state than the built-in unit. Stuff like police, cameras, stalled cars, accidents, weather hazards, object hazards, etc. It is crowd-sourced so you can run into reports from some idiot that doesn't know how many fingers they have on their feet. For a free service, it offers a lot more than the $70/year trafficnav XM subscription.
I can also do more cool things with AA, like put Torque gauges up on the screen or full media controls for music apps like Spotify.
I'm also waiting on a wireless Android Auto adapter to arrive so I won't have to plug the phone in at all, or can plug into a high speed charger if needed. But that's an Indiegogo project and I'm way back on the fulfillment list.
My navigation use is pretty minimum and I am fine with just streaming my music over Bluetooth or using my iPod; so I did not understand why the extra work and cost to bypass the stock navigation system especially after the 13.5 update which added some nice features to the stock system.
However, I see that you actually will make good use out of the entertainment system modifcation. Nice work.
