  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2018 Genesis G80 Sport Trim Debuts With 3.3 Liter Turbocharged Engine

Bunch of pics on the carscoops site, see if the link works: http://www.carscoops.com/2016/11/genesis-adds-naughty-twin-turbo-2017.html

I must say I love what they did here with the update. The white sport with the grey/black interior looks great, I love the carbon trim and the black headliner. Heck with it I'm getting one when my '15 lease is up!
I think the reviewer the YouTube video is somewhat confused, and the 2018 G80 3.3 TT is not an "update," rather it is new model with its own sheet metal. Although there may also be some sheet metal changes to the 2018 G80 3.8 and 5.0, I believe the 2018 G80 3.3TT Sport will still have its own sheet metal features not found on the others (especially on the front).

i know they arent the best angles but it looks like there is no paddle shifters. thats interesting considering this is a "Sport" model

For more videos check out the Korean videos on Youtube for the G80 sport that they've had access to for a little bit longer.

looks like they are there to me. Cant imagine a sports vehicle without them.

I generally don't care for carbon fiber but they did it pretty nice here. Lots of pictures here.

Where's my G80 Sport 5.0 or better yet 5.0 Twin Turbo?? By the way I heard they are offering it in RWD or AWD. So I expect all fully load Sport with AWD to hit 60K

If there's going to be a twin turbo V8 in the G80s future - it'll be priced like a Cadillac CTS-V. I'd love to see them go that route but - one step at a time...

I was thinking of the 2018 sport model, however, my only concern is are the new features (engine and suspension)brand new for the manufacturer or have they been around for a while and have established some reliability. I hesitate to buy a new car with unproven technology. Any thought on this subject

Other than the engine it should be, more or less, the same car as before. So the sunroof should squeak :-) The engine power seems pretty tame to me for what it is, so perhaps it's under stressed. I am on the fence with this car. Love some of the exterior cues and hate others. And *not* a fan of the carbon fiber dash... And will anyone come up with a chip/tune/mod for the TT?

The 3.3 V6 TT has been available on the G90 for several months already. But it is relatively new.

What about the continuous Damping Control suspension. Is it new technology for Genesis? Does it really enhance vehicle dynamics and ride quality or just makes it firmer? Any thoughts?

They had the "Continuous Damping Control" adaptive suspension back in the G2 models. I assume it's just a rehash of the same thing with perhaps more sporty tuning. And yes, it can make a world of difference if set up properly.

I don't have any squeaks coming from my sunroof yet. It's been about a year now. Yes, I'm sure the 3.3 liter twin turbo v6 has a LOT more room for power. And I'm pretty confident it could be bumped up to around 500hp without much trouble. I have a strong feeling we'll be seeing some big tuners wake up for this motor...

It doesn't seem like the suspension was lowered at all, which is disappointing for the "sport" model. This vehicle would address 90% of my complaints on the current V6, but I still think weight is going to be an issue. I look forward to comparing this sport model with the upcoming G70 when my lease ends in a few years.

Hopefully they keep the current V6 as the base engine moving forward, because this car is a pig that would be downright dismal with a turbo-4.

I would certainly hope so. With boost, this should be the most mod-able engine of the three.

CDC suspension components from Zachs (a division of ZF) have been on the Genesis Sedan from 2009. CDC is not an active suspension such as is provided with an electronically controlled air suspension.

Just noticed there's a 360deg camera button...nice that they added it finally

Read somewhere that the Korean G80 already has the 3.3 engine. Can anyone confirm?
