  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2020 G70 U.S. availability

Sure thing. Anytime I drive my wife's Kona I find myself looking for the numbers in the windshield. :wallbash:
Does she like the Kona--strangely, it is an SUV that I actually like the look of--had thought about it for a second family car.

She likes it a lot. It's really a crossover, higher with better driver view than a sedan, fun to drive, believe it or not it's roomier than the G70. Cargo area is not the best but enought for what she uses it (groceries and retail shopping stuff). Our son is in College now with his own car so we don't need anything bigger.

Was thinking of it for the same/similar reasoning--and I like the look of it.

I heard the 3D cluster wouldn't be in America because the 3D aspect would be touchy with safety regulations here.

It would be great to have the 3D digital gauges... but yeah probably just trunk closing button which I can't believe the 2019 didn't have

Personally I like the analog gauges flanking the digital display. That being said I haven't seen the 3D Digital Gauges in person...

Doubt it has anything to do with it. There is an option to turn off the 3D part.
Plus the same cluster is on the K900 minus the 3D and the refreshed G90.

I initially was waiting for the 2020 cause I thought we might get some cool features. Looks like it's only the trunk and I won't be using that often anyway. Went ahead and got the lease cash and circle A pricing. Couldn't beat that price.

Are they still keeping the manual or completely kill it in 2020?

A little bird told me these are the changes for the US 2020 G70:
- Power Trunk available on Prestige trims (likely other trims will get the Smart Trunk that opens automatically via proximity but is not power so it won't auto close)
- Black Forest Green available on all trims
- Bright silver wheel finish replacing dark matte finish on 20 spoke wheels
- All-weather tires available on 19" wheels
- Performance brakes available as an option for 2.0T
- Sunroof standard on all 3.3T
- Burgundy/black leather is no longer available as it was on some colors for 2019
- Brown leather available with some exterior colors

Not sure how reliable this is, but throwing it out there anyway... Thinking it should be announced soon

@Tonester

Thanks a lot for the update. Not sure (I may be high on caffeine and imagining things) but looks like some of this is already updated in the online configurator (or may be my computer screen cannot render the wheel color correctly).

If I remember correctly 2019 AWD other than sport came with 18 inch black wheels only but now they seem to have 19 inch silver wheels available (at least in the online configurator).

I was planning on picking up a 2019 sport AWD next week but looks like I will wait now because I may be able to choose a G70 AWD with light colored interior and 19 inch wheels (which are not black).

P.S. I guess I will be bothering @r_spec again once the 2020s come out. He has been extremely helpful and cannot thank him enough for his time and support to the forum members.

Thanks, Tonester! Nurburgring green on a sport trim in the US isn't just a dream anymore! Would Sport trims also get the power trunk or is it literally just the prestige trim?

According to what I got, my interpretation would be that the Sport would get the Smart Trunk, but not the Power Trunk. If you look at the Canadian site, both Prestige and Sport get the power trunk for 2020, so that may also happen in the US, or it could be optional on both; we'll see...

You are correct @rathvahan! Checking the online configurator, it is now showing the silver 19" 20-spoke wheels for 3.3T AWD! I guess they will morph the 2019 configurator to become the 2020 configurator (someone jumped the gun!).

So it looks like they may still differentiate the 3.3T AWD and RWD with the AWD getting silver 20-spoke 19's and the RWD getting silver 10-spoke 19's.

Does this mean no more 5-spoke wheels?

Sport will always have the dark chrome 5-spoke 19" wheels. I was referring to the 3.3T non-Sport since they have different wheels for 2019 based on AWD vs RWD. Looks like RWD stays the same for 2020 with 10-spoke silver 19's, but AWD gets 20-spoke silver 19's instead of 20-spoke black matte 18's (not a great look IMO). The 20-spoke prediction for AWD is speculation based on what the configurator shows, not on what I was told.
