If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2022 Genesis G70 3.3T races Audi S4

I have dusted a few quicker on paper turbo cars with my 5.0 on merging lanes when launch control was not used.
You have that thingy that makes your pedal sensitive and you can adjust making faster or something lol. I want to get one but idk

I must admit that I do have to use a Sprint Booster to gain an edge also in a merging contest due to the horrible lag in the 5.0 Genesis stock throttle tuning.

The Sprint Booster is worth it if you like a more sentive gas pedal for sure, however it is not for a easy going driver since it does take off like a bat out of hell unless you learn to just give the gas pedal a light tap.

Ill bet the g70 3.3 T will do very well vs a c43 , E43 and a standard 340i not the m340i .
Maybe. Those cars are not as powerful as their performance focused siblings with stronger running engines, larger brakes, and more aggressive sport mode settings.

However, the C43 is a 4.1 second 0-60 car; so the G70 will not beat it in a full out drag race most likely. The G70 could beat the E43 in a drag race with a pro driver behind the wheel maybe, but the E43 is a 4.2 second 0-60 car so it seems unlikely. The 2019 G70 is a 4.7 second 0-60 car in stock form per Car and Driver. I am not sure about the 2022 G70 model test numbers. However, if we look at the total package instead of just one piece of acceleration data that includes handling and top speed; then the G70 beats the C43 and many other cars in its class in terms of value and performance.

There was something up with that G70 C&D tested and they mention it in the article because it was slower than the 150lb heavier stinger they previously tested. Here are the comparison numbers with the C43 and the rest of the cars in the class.

We always like to compare 0-60 but the real numbers that are important in the cars performance are 5-60, 30-50 and 50-70. This according to Car and Driver.

But if you are on a street at a red light, obviously you and the other person will start from 0 i would assume. So in that case not much you can tweak. But nonetheless the g70 3.3t especially the new ones are amazing and cheaper than any other its competitors, im satisfied that it holds it own vs a c43, e43, S4 etc.. besides bmw M and AmG and S line, the g70 3.3t is eating every other car , a charger scatpack has no chance. A mustang GT would be a good race.

Yeah but most likely not going to engage launch control

Right. Timing LC at a light is harder than you think, even watching the other side switch to red.

So in Real world driving , the G70 3.3t is quicker than its competitors the AmG 43’s , the S line Audi ?

I’ve not personally lined up against an amg 43 or an S4 (s line is an appearance package). The numbers say it will be quicker, but most likely evenly matched when not launching. I have personally beat a newer cayman gts rolling from 5

my buddy's Golf R is another example. that thing rockets off the line with its dual-clutch LC (he's has the ECU and tranny tuned). but from a roll it feels very different. it's still quick, but nowhere near as aggressive as with LC.

I had a '15 Golf R and my G70 feels much faster in real world, everyday driving (not launching). Not nearly as laggy, and the R always seemed to be in too high of a gear when not in manual mode.

Where did you get the performance numbers?

I have dusted a couple Golf R with my 5.0 at my favorite highway merge lanes. I assume both Golf R I bested did not activate launch control at the time, however both Golf R drivers shot pass me when I slowed down at about 80mph so they wanted the lead. They probably assume my 5.0 was a 3.8 G80 and not worth the trouble as an easy pass to activate launch control until it was too late.:)

The Golf R is pretty slow without launch control from 5-60mph test numbers. Almost as slow as 5.6 seconds.

Real test is how well do you keep up with dodge charger/chally scatpacks , mustang gt 5.0s , camaros, q50s , the more popular performance cars.

Well; my car best 0-60 time per my Torque Pro app is 4.6 seconds with rare perfect launch, however my most consistence time is only 4.8 by only pressing the gas pedal for a stop. However, I have held my own against many of the quicker cars mentioned on the roads when launch control is not a factor. But I am a realist; my very large Genesis sedan is not in the 4.5 second or quicker league. My best stumping ground for a sure win is against the 5 second and above cars.

Why are you using the Stinger 0-60 numbers; different car so some other variable is probably why it is quicker.
The Stinger is heavier and has the same drivetrain. In every head to head test, the G70 is faster. In any case, I see now that C&D has updated their data and shows the same numbers I listed.

Where? post the link. I posted the 2019 Car and Driver test and is says the 2019 G70 has a 4.7 second 0-60 time not 4.4 like the Stinger.

The Stinger may have a more aggressive launch control hence the better time.

The Stinger doesn't have a more aggressive launch. They are the same. I've done more than enough testing and research to know.
