  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, 5150 mi. to be exact. Pleasantly surprised that brakes, tires, and battery are holding up well.

Oil change & a few other issues to look at:

  • Driver's door lock button -- They reprogrammed the driver's door button to unlock all doors with a single press. I know the default behavior (1st press unlocks only driver's door except if button is pushed a 2nd time within 4 seconds) is for safety. But this was a pain for me since I almost always have passengers or am putting things in the back seat. Had to show the dealer the page in the owner's manual that said that a dealer could change this behavior & they had to call the Tech Line.
  • Auto headlight sensitivity -- Asked whether it could be changed to be less sensitive so that it didn't toggle when going under a small underpass. Per Tech Line, this can't be adjusted.
  • Driver's seat leather -- Seat pan leather is bunching and holes for headrests are showing (on passenger's side, the holes are concealed by the adjustment caps, on the driver's side, the leather is pulled down so that you can see the holes and cushioned). Dealer took pictures and is forwarding to Hyundai rep for evaluation.

Nice post, very interesting, that they gave you the sheet afterwards. I am super curious to see how this car hold up. So far mine is been excellent. Since I do most of the maintenance myself, keep these posts coming, for things only the dealer or specialist can do.

How much did it cost you?

$5 for the filter, $38 for the synthetic oil, $10 labor and disposal, plus the nearly 10% sales tax in LA these days. They would have done the job for $15+tax if I provided my own oil, but I was lazy.

I just had a 15,000 mile oil change done yesterday. My dealer is Horne Hyundai in Apache Junction, AZ. They charged me $9 for parts and $12 for labor. I provided my own synthetic oil so cost me about $31 for oil. They also fixed a squeak I had whenever I closed the drivers door. Only took some lubricant. I have been very happy with my dealer so far.

Yes, appreciate the posting of the Genesis Multipoint Inspection Report, will request same upon pending oil change and look-see. Remain extremely delighted with the 4.6 vehicle at 9K. Noted most are moving to the synthetics. Seems to be Mobil One? Planning a 5K trip soon, feedback please. Thanks.

Wondering if anyone else has received an inspection report like the one posted above. I requested one at 7,500 and they gave me something similar but not the same. I am wondering if the report posted above was unique to that dealership or should be standard across all Hyundai service departments. At my delaer they did what they called the "Full Circle Inspection". I thought that was the Mazda service line tag name. No big deal but just wondering again about consistency across dealers and the service department experience we are all getting.

Recently received a "genesis compliments certificate" from Hyundai with two coupons: one offering a Free Multi-Point Inspection and one for $10 off any parts service or accessories. Valid at participating dealerships. I'll see what kind of report I get when I take it in nhext month.

I had my 1st service done at 3750 miles per the service manual, cost $32. Are you doing yours at 5000 miles useing synthetic oils?

Yes, synthetic. Conventional would have been around $30.
