Rey -- Did you ever find out how to take the seat back plastic cover off your seat? I have been trying to get the same information, but have not found out from anyone how it comes off. Thanks if you know. Regards, Dan
If you know how to get the seat back plastic cover off, please advise me/us how you do that. I am trying to get plastic seat back cover off my seat, and do not want to damage it. Regards, Dan
cabin ambient temp != vent air temp
The seats are actively cooled using air from the ventilation system. If you have the AC on and the temp set low, the cooling feature will blow cold air into the seat even if the ambient cabin temp is 90+. The service tech was wrong.
Never pulled the back off of my seat, but I fixed mine by changing the filter in the bottom of the seat.
At 65k it was completely plugged and letting very little air through:

Simply move the seat forward, get in the backseat, reach under the seat until you feel it, twist and remove. Replacements are about $45 at the dealer.
Here is an interesting tidbit, there is no mention of this filter in the owner's manual, factory service manual or service interval card. It is also not in Hyundai's GDS, which means your average technician is also unaware of it's existence. In fact the only place it can be found is in the exploded diagrams the parts department has.
5 minute fix, my A/C seat works better than even when I picked up the car at 35k.
that is awesome! When i was watching my repair that did not look to be a serviceable item. Do you have the part number for that filter?
