Accumulated G70 issues

Infotainment system having zero volume. Resolves itself though. Still annoying. Happened to me only once so far.

I have also had the entire info speakers stop working and at times just the front drivers side speakers stop working or cut in and out. It seems to be happening more with the dealership not able to duplicate. How do you reset the radio?

There’s a tiny reset button on the front of the console that you can use a pen to press

I haven't had radio issues since hitting this reset button on my Stinger, in a year.

No reports of roof/sunroof issues in some time here. What does that mean? Fewer new owners coming to the site? Colder weather? Becoming used to it?

Idle Start/stop also limited respondents. (Is this a Stinger issue also?)

If anyone follows the Stinger board regularly, have reports of these issues surfaced with less frequency there over time?

Maybe people are getting good at searching and don’t need to post so much if their issue already exists and is documented. I actually just got the brake shuddering issue on my way home. I know what caused it, I went down from about 80 to 0 real fast this morning and then had to sit foot on brake for a couple seconds while I waited for traffic to move. First brake at freeway speeds on the way home and it shook like Michael j fox. I’m going to try re bedding the brakes first before I take it in during my next oil change

Unfortunately that's all it takes to cause that with the regular pads.

Thanks. It’s not the first time I’ve had to brake hard from those speeds tho, so not sure why it would start now. But I do appreciate how well logged the issue is so I can at least point some stuff out to my SA

All of those issues are echoed on the Kia Stinger. Seems shared parts can be put to blame since issues exist on both. The only thing I haven't seen on the Genesis forums (so far) is paint issues. The paint on the Stinger is questionable at times, and defective on some owner's cars too.

Paint issue here. I found a piece of weld spatter on my driver door under the paint. I used to be a welder). I'm also a certified coatings inspector and know that sharp points like this will eventually lead to failure of the paint due to low mils of the coating layer, high and low points. I also have weld spatter inside the upper door frame visible from the driver seat. Also under the paint.

Issues with my doors. The rear driver’s side passenger door kick plate had to be adjusted as the latch felt loose after only a couple months.

This week, my driver’s door seems ‘stuck;’ looks like the gap at the top right corner is gone, and I have to really shove the door to get it open.

Had similar door issues on my 2012 R-Spec... other than that, she’s a peach!

Has anyone had issues with Genesis updating your service records online. They can't seem to input my service records on my online vehicle health page.

Does the G70 have Quantum Logic Surround in the sound options? Apparently in the Stinger, turning these off seem to fix radio issues. I don't think I ever have mine on, hence maybe why I haven't had issues for over a year.

I had one issue with my sunroof which the dealer took care of quickly. The auto part of my sunroof switch wouldn’t work properly. Just needed to be recalibrated As far as the brakes vibrating it’s from them getting dirty from the oem brake pads. There is a free quick way to clean them but the first step is quiet violent lol. Basically get up to about 80-90mph. Slam on the brakes as hard as you can till you come to a complete stop Then next step is the hardest. Drive for at least 40 min to let them cool all the way down without touching the brakes at all. I haven’t done it yet myself but my brakes don’t my vibrate much since I tend to not have to brake hard much on a daily basis

Here's one... passenger seatback every once in a while fails when trying to move it "up" (more vertical). All other controls work... forward, back, bolsters, seatback reclines... but seatback won't then raise back up.

Some type of reset or something was done once... am now taking back in next week.

1st service coming up next week... have mentioned about the sunroof. It's the one thing that is bugging the krap out of me, all the other little incidental things I either don't have or are not that big of a deal, but that damn rattle is driving me crazy.
See what happens, otherwise, will find that fix in another thread to maybe help bring back some sanity.
