  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Adding LED Skuff Plates to a V6

One of the ones I received even had the package marked as LH and the part # was different, but it was still a RH and was marked as such on the back. I know KAI will fix the situation its just the fact that I couldnt install them already.

With right-hand scuff plate #2 on it's way back to KAI to be replaced by a left-hand unit, I followed Phil's instructions and installed right-hand scuff plate #1. Oh, sweet! It is as easy as Phil said, and his pictures don't do it justice!

Many thanks to Phil for posting this thread!

COOL! You're welcome!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Next week I'll try to get a good pic posted of the front and rear lit up with the doors open.

True to their word, KAI now has the rear LED scuff plates available for $149.95 for the pair. See: http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=2280&osCsid=6dddbff92b95f9ca52869f9a1dddad42.

BTW, KAI replaced the erroneous second RH front scuff plate they sent me with a LH front scuff plate in a couple of days after I informed them - great service guys!

They are good guys. Glad they got those in.

Looking back at this thread, I had promised pics of all the lighting changes I did...but... I never did. So....

There's several more in the Album section.

Very cool Dude!

Thanks for the link Wordman

Would have liked to make them a little brighter. But we can't have everything

Will addding these void the warranty ?? Anyone know.

I don't know officially, but I've had my car in for normal work and the dealer said nothing. This is standard Hyundai parts and existing wiring. Again... not official, but I seriously doubt it.

No. You plugged OEM lights into OEM wiring.

A dealer/manufacturer cannot blanket void a warranty anyway. They can deny coverage based on modifications that are directly related to your issue. For example, if you put an aftermarket stereo in your vehicle and your engine seizes. The manufacturer cannot deny you coverage because you have an aftermarket stereo. On the other hand, if you take it in because of distorted sound in the right rear speaker.... they will almost certainly deny coverage (for that issue) as they can claim it was likely caused by your aftermarket accessory, which is directly related.
