5hp increase on 340hp+ -- that's amazing
Is the increase at the lower end, top end or across the whole range?
So, I will stay will the V6 and with the new air filter I will have a real sleeper"
Will it now out accelerate the 5.0 RSpec? --------- and oh yes" ->
Anything on the internet m u s t be true
amazing what people believe......"""""""
There's even a quite noticeable change in my cars' performance on a 40-50F day vs. a 90-100F day (I love those first few cool days of fall when it seems like you've gotten a free performance upgrade!).
As you see im asking you , so as to be sure, asking doesn't mean i believe
I've never dyno'd anything with just a filter change, but I have seen a few HP from a complete intake kit with K&N or similar filter. Not always, and most of the time it only makes a worthwhile difference if you tune for it as well. If you actually get anything out of a filter alone in these cars, I doubt it would be enough to see it on a dyno, and since we have no way of tuning a G, my guess is zero gain or close to it. I run a K&N because I will never buy another filter, not for the HP.
That's why I use K&N in all my vehicles - 2012 Genny V6, '04 GMC Envoy 5.3, '90 Isuzu 2.6 SpaceCab, and my 2006 Suzuki 650.
Clean 'em once or twice a year and that's that. Used them for years and never had a problem them or with them "letting more stuff" into the engine.
