Well here's why I believe that...
1. Hyundai hires Albert Biermann, formerly engineering chief to BMW M Performance
2. ...they hired him specifically to run Hyundai's new N-Performance brand
3. While at BMW, Biermann spearheaded the development of a 4.4 twin-turbo V8 to power the M6 and M5
So it's really not that big of a stretch. Now maybe it won't be the 5L V8, and maybe it will just be the 4.6. But since they already have the 5.0, why not?
Thinking more likely a new smaller displacement 4.0 TTV8.
I really hope an X1, X3, X5 suv/sav style comes out of this as well, each respectively like the sedans. I would trade my current Genesis for a Genesis GX90..80...whatever. And I want the 5.0 with some forced air on it....turbo/supercharger...idc...just force air it.
so basically an X5 type luxury suv/sav with over 500hp. something along the lines of the Cayenne for way less.
also I hope this means a completely new Genesis dealership, but still the ability to go to Hyundai for repairs if need be.
Seems like a Genesis/G80 and a smaller G70 based crossovers.
So something larger than the X5 (big enough for a real 3rd row) and something larger than the X3.
No plans for anything below the compact segment for the near-future, as well as for sports CUVs like the X4 and X6.
Likely will see at least one lux CUV from Kia as well.
