  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm not even going to say my age. I'm engaged. Is it too late for me to get this cool car? Or will I look like I'm having a mid-life crisis. Am I? lol What is the age that is too old for this car?

Thanks for any opinions.

You pose an interesting question ....... Mr 32 year old. Your age is at the top right of your posting :)

You are your own boss. If not, you maybe should be directing your question to your boss (to be) :)

Good luck

You're never too old! Haven't you noticed, when you were a kid you'd always see old guys driving porsche and vets..........the reason behind it is because they couldn't afford it til he kids were gone! My wife tried to push me into a coupe @ 53 but I opted for the sedan because of the size.... If it was only a weekend cruiser I would have gotten the coupe!
REMEMBER AGE IS A STATE OF MIND!

My husband always buy's what ever he wants and I do the same. One car is usually paid off while the other makes a car payment. We haul stuff in the older car and use the newer one for road trips.

Get what you want since your paying for it any way. If you need an old truck to haul things in later ...get one for cheap

My husband told me the other day he noticed I have been happier since I got the Genesis - who says money can't buy happiness

If you are not too old to turn the steering wheel, you are not too old to drive whatever you can afford and want. I have the Genesis sedan because of the size but I also have a 328i convertible and a Triumph Rocket III motorcycle that I just returned from a 2500 mile trip on. I sold a 2006 GTO to get the Genesis. Go for it.

For me, it was a choice of the Genesis coupe or the Santa Fe. My daughter encouraged me to get the coupe before I was to old, and to forget about being practical. I am glad I listened to my daughter. I love the feeling of power and being low to the ground. My age....60.

You are NOT too old for the Genesis Coupe. I am 51, my youngest kids are finally driving age, and now I can buy what I want instead of needing to be practical and able to carry 2 or 3 car seats! SO I am buying my first hot rod befor I get too darn old to enjoy it :) That's why I am here researching the Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track AT w/navigation. The research is part of the fun of it all :)

My wife has the Santa Fe Limited circa 2007. The vehicle has been great for 40K miles and has gobs of power. It is no slouch for sure with the 3.3 six in it and 5 speed automatic. I can't imagine how much more power the larger 3.5 six now being used with a 6speed auto could be like. The success with the Sante Fe is why I am considering the Genesis Coupe.

I know I'm new here but I'll speak up:So long as you don't live beyond your finances you aren't too old. If your priorities are in order, then go for it! I have a wife, two kids, and a mortgage payment;when the time is right,I'm getting my coupe!

Most of our Genesis Coupe buyers are 40+ at least insofar as 3.8 Grand Touring models go. 2.0t has gone to a younger buyer. The C&D cover story (or warm weather?) seemed to turn on a switch in public awareness of Coupe.

We had a 60 years young fellow in July trade a Porsche Boxster convertible and Mercedes S sedan (he got cash back) for a fully equipped 3.8 Track in Interlagos Yellow. was a very pleasant fellow and also thorough in choosing vehicle and color. I think he looked back and forth among three Gen sedans and two Coupes one Saturday for at least a couple of hours before choosing...........

He's put on a custom grill to show off his vehicle a few days ago, seems very content........

Hubby is 54 and bought his red 3.8 coupe in April.
We look at it this way. He says it's his second childhood. I say it was either a car or a mistress...he chose wisely...lol.

I'm 62 and I bought a 2010 3.8 GT in March. I am having a blast with this car. I removed al the "H" emblems and replaced them with the wings logo, I also added a custom mesh grill and 35% tint. Since I got the car, not one week has gone by without people asking me, "what kind of car is that?" I was even pulled over by the police, because they wanted to know about the make of my car. I live in Las Vegas and there are many expensive and nice rides on the street, but mine continues to turn heads each week. I travel 90 miles to Laughlin Nevada a few times a month and I have had my coupe up to 148MPH several times. My goal is 150+. Next week I am trying 100 octane unleaded gas to see if I can break 148.
My age has nothing to do with it.

That is freaking awsome^ I am 44 and this is the only car that has my interest at the moment other than the new 5.0 GT.

Can this even be a serious question? I guess someone could theoretically be too young for a Coupe, but you can't be too old. Buy a 3.8 Track, turn the traction control off everytime you turn the car on and have fun. I drive one as a demo, and, unfortunately, only have about 10 miles a day in which to enjoy it. But I make it an interesting 10 miles. :)

ROFL ....great question by the way....common man you ain't that old yet...and driving cars is not related to your age anyways....its the internal desire which should drive you to get this car....

Turning 50 in a couple of months so if OP is too old for this car then I certainly am.....NOT! Got a lifted mudslingin Tacoma to go with it & a Mazda P5 with loud exhaust and tuned out so technically none of my vehicles fit my age, they fit how young I still feel and act. See y'all on the mt bike trails, lol.

I am 71 and I recently purchased a Coupe track. I wanted to have another sports car while I could still get in and out of it. Like everyone else I am constantly asked about the car.

I'm 59, just bought a 3.8 Track and don't wanna hear any of this 'mid-life crisis' crap. I was going to get a Honda Coupe (already gave 'em a deposit) when someone parked a silverstone Genesis Coupe across the street. Game over. Saw the Genesis on line, it didn't impress me too much until I saw one up close. What a diff! A buddy says it's one "mean looking car" and I must agree. At first I wanted the Grand Touring (manual trans.) but the dealer tells me starting 2011 that model will only come with a/t. I don't want an a/t. It just so happened they had a stunning looking 3.8 Track (2010) right there in the showroom, in silverstone to boot, and the rest, as they say, is history. Although I enjoy driving I never wanted a performance car (couldn't afford one either) until I drove this, I'm hooked. Now I LOVE driving! So you're 32 and you think you're too old? Gotta be kidding me. Buy the damn car and have a blast!
