First off, let me wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
O.K.-
We've been comparison shopping vehicles for a while now. Our budget is ~$30k- which led us to look at used Lexus ES's and GS's (IS's are too small for our family). I also recently test-drove a new Genesis V6 Premium+ and was very impressed! Problem was at $36k+TTT it was ~$8k more than we wanted to spend.
Yes, I completely agree that the Genesis is a lot of car for the money- and $36k+TTT is a bargain. However, we have a strict budget to adhere to. Before someone suggests a lease- we are not in the habit of leasing vehicles- as we prefer to buy and drive (a lot) and we tend to keep our vehicles for years. We also finance our vehicles with the goal of having them paid off within 3-4yrs.
A base V6 seems like the right entry price for us. I figure since the base is not a popular choice that we may be able to haggle down into our pricepoint.
Honestly, on paper the base V6 Genesis has more than enough power and options to keep us happy- and I think we'd be content without a sunroof, 14 speakers, rear window shade, power steering wheel tilt, heated seats, etc.
None of the Hyundai dealers in our area carry base models to compare/contrast against the models with packages.
Does anyone have pictures of the interior of a base Genesis V6 that they can post? Any comments about or regrets over choosing a base V6 over the Premium packages? (for example, is the base stereo system really that bad?)
Don't forget the interior pics!
Thanks in advance.
