  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Autospies (Autolies?) Genesis Video

Wow, an honest-to-goodness Pontiac fan. I thought you were made up, like bigfoot! :D j/k

Seriously though, I've never cared for Pontiac until they brought over the Holden Monaro & Commodore as the GTO & G8. All their prior stuff (excluding a few old classic/vintage cars) looks too plasticky and fussy to my eye. And their interiors, while relatively durable, look like complete garbage. :( In fact, the G8 is one of my favorite GM sedans in recent memory (along with the new CTS).

To each their own, as long as you're happy with your vehicle who cares what I think, right? ;)

Well, I am one of very few who LOVES the plasticky stuffs in the older Pontiacs. I absolutely hate imports no matter how good they may be, especially when they pose as my favorite brand. I would rather see Holden doing business in U.S. as Holden, nothing else, not as Pontiac. That's what my gripe is. I still hate the fact that they killed Grand Prix while they continue on the Impala trash, that made me hate Chevy as much as any imports. I just want Pontiac to stay as North American designed/built. I don't care about other divisions. I hated all the imports that Pontiac sold in the past and now that includes LeMans(Daewoo), Vibe(Toyota), GTO(Holden, I wanted the GTO of the 70's, such as Judge, that was designed AND built in North America, not some import from Australia), and the current G8(Holden). Only current Pontiacs I like right now is the AMERICAN Solstice, and AMERICAN G6, and the phased out AMERICAN/CANADIAN Grand Prix(My favorite of the Pontiacs). I don't care about the plasticy interior. I am also one of the very few who misses the old, plastic body claddings, and the pop-up headlights that were on the Firebird and Fiero, that tells you it IS a Pontiac, that is unique than the Chevy cousins. Even though Grand Prix is the only model on their line up which never had the heavy body claddings, but my old 99 Grand am had it, and it told you right there that it is a Pontiac and I loved it. I also hate the blatent re-badge of the craps that are from Chevy to have Pontiac logo, such as G5(I miss Sunfire, though everyone saids it was a crap, but at least it had a completely different styling than the plain Cobalt), Torrent(A bad re-badge of the Chevy Equinnox garbage). I won't bother to shop GM anymore unless they kill off ALL the Aussie imports and bring back Grand Prix and Bonneville that was designed and built in either US or Canada. And since there are no chance of that happening, my current Grand Prix will be it for my business to GM. I may move to dodge or chrysler for my 4th car in the future, though I am going to keep my Grand Prix to death, and if it dies, I am going to restore it and keep it for it was the car I wanted for so long. If they don't kill off Aussie Imports, I want them to at least ADD to their line-up the revised, new, AMERICAN made Bonneville AND Grand Prix to be sold alongside the Aussie import junks.

Well, sorry about the off-topic, let's get back on to the Genesis shall we?

I only slightly agree with the Autospies review. I thought the production model's exterior styling was a little conservative compared to the concept model. However, the production model is a very nice looking car, especially in person. Secondly, I thought comparisons to the Mercedes S class and Lexus LS460 was mainly in reference to interior space not the fit and finish of the interior.
