  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have it for three days. Anything you guys think I would benefit from knowing, learning, checking out while I have it that would help my decision to buy or not? Any real unique features?

Have access to a DVD-A to hear surround sound at its finest?
Check the tire pressure. Dealers tend to over inflate which will mess up the real ride.
Otherwise, just drive on a variety of road condition (especially your normal ones) and speeds.
And enjoy!

How did you pull three days off? This is a great car.

Salesman offered when I was there for a normal test drive and I took him up on it. I have found it very hard to tell how much you will like a car in a 10 min. test drive. I considered a Buick Lacrosse till I had one as a rental car for a week a month ago. Decided after a week that was not the car for me, even though I liked it initially.

What is the correct pressure for these tires?

Just remember that if you want to steam Bluetooth audio, the Tech package cars do not do it. You'll need the base model, or the Premium package only model for that feature.

Looking forward to your report on your 3 day adventure.

I want the streaming, but not enough to give up the other tech features.

The only thing I really miss from the Tech Package options is the higher end leather.

How do you change from "Eco" mode?

Press the DISP button on the steering wheel until the center small screen has a leaf on it, then hold down the DISP button for about 4 seconds until the Eco goes off. Turn it on the same way.

Ok, gotcha. Thanks for the info. I was hoping the owners manual would be in the car, but it's not. What does the Eco mode do? Is it just holding the car in a higher gear longer or ?

The Eco Mode on the Genesis is just a dummy light. It will come on and tell you when you are driving efficiently. It will not change the driving characteristics of the car on or off. Kind of disappointing being that the Sonata actually is an active ECO mode.

Is there a way to turn off the warning on the nav. screen with each car start? Wife's Acura does this and I hate it. Also is there a way to turn off the stupid warning it gives you when you play the radio with the engine off?

No/no, at least i haven't found a way to do either. I think you are very fortunate to be able to have such a long test drive. I hope that may be an indication of how truly customer-driven the dealer is after the sale.

I would just add that you should try to see how the car's handling characteristics are on groved and irregular road surfaces. Tire inflation -- as mentioned before -- is really important here. Remember, that with OEM tires, it can only get better with most replacement tires.

The Michelin tires on the 12's are just fine.

I decreased the pressure to the recommended amount. The dealership had it very high. I have to admit it doesn't ride as smooth as my ES 350, but it is better around corners and has a noticeable power improvement.

Who is the dealer? If he's that customer focused he should get a plug, even if you don't purchase from him.

In my opinion the ES350 rides like an old Buick. The Genesis ride can feel a bit jouncy at times, though. Perfection lies somewhere between the two.

I would agree with that statement. Unfortunately once you get used to the ride in the ES it's hard to go back. Hmmmm what to do.

^ While I wouldn't refer to it as "perfect", the ride in the new Azera would fit the bill.
