Bluetooth streaming for 2012 Genesis sedans maybe??

I haven't had any problems with BT connections dropping. Have u checked to see if you have the latest software from the dealer loaded? I wouldnt think it was a Apple vs. Android thing either...

After the last device i tried failed.. I went with the Rockford Fosgate BT adapter. It plugs into the outlet in the center console, then into the aux port. With this device u can also keep a usb drive in the usb port and if u need a usb to pwr something u can plug into the RFBTAUX. Still no steering wheel control but its Pretty sweet anyway!!

Its had a few bad reviews online but i have had no problems.

You mentioned earlier that you had to change a setting on the Andriod phone to fix it, right? It sounded like you were either forcing the connection to use a different BT profile, or you were disabling the phone connection while using audio streaming. I could not find an analogous setting on iOS-- Apple does not let you change much with the BT profiles.

Changing that setting lets the radio connect to my phone automatically when i get in. One part of the car stereo connects to my BT device as media only and the other connects to the phone portion only.

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because ViseeO has come out with a new model, WMA3000B, that may work with our cars. It's specifically mentioned to work with USB iPod adapters. I just ordered one and will check back in next week to let you all know if it works or not. I've been using a Nyrius B30 bluetooth adapter for the past 1.5 years with a modified OEM cable (cut the data wires, leaving only the audio wires) but would like something that will enable steering wheel controls. Stay tuned....

Unfortunately did not work at all. I tried all three variations of the adapter and the Genesis wouldn't recognize any of them.

I picked this one up as well (Miccus-Mini-jack-AX4) and while it does work on a basic level (no steering wheel or screen controls), it also drops out like a skipping record periodically. I may try the earlier suggestion to disconnect the phone BT in case it's conflicting, but that's kind of an annoyance. I also don't like that it starts the iPhone music controls as soon as it connects when i get in the car. Like it's hijacking my phone without asking me. Overall, not thrilled with it.

Great observations. I have fixed the skipping problem by making sure the bluetooh receiver is clear of obstacles and then rotating the receiver until the best connection is achieved.

As to the hijacking the phone audio...yep. That is insanely annoying. I have mine disconnected from the power source until I need it. Then I plug it in and it auto connects. This is a great solution and only takes about 3 seconds to fire up on the go.

Living with it is just okay but actually pretty great for the price lol

It's insane to me that we don't have an option yet for this. I have the same issue. I want Bluetooth from my phone for audio to the stereo. How hard is that?

I cant connect a USB device because it totally hijacks any functionality of the audio or nav system every time I start the car no matter if I want to use it or not. It just starts and cancels out whatever I had the input set to. That's ridiculous.

And not having a Bluetooth connection where I can use my steering wheel controls just amazes me. No one has a product for that?

This is a Hyundai accountability issue it is completely ridiculous that we are looking for cheesey 3rd party fixes for an issue that could be resolved with a software fix that they have chosen to stop supporting. I think the only resolution is to keep calling Hyundai Corporate and pressuring them for a software update. It is the family joke about whether the bluetooth will connect after shutting the car off or work at all. So, extremely unreliable bluetooth connectivity and no connectivity through the factory USB cable. Makes me very nervous about purchasing anything from them in the future. Sad as it is otherwise a great car. Ive said it before here, don't want to do it yourself, allow third party developers to create the updates. Id happily pay for the update from an outside firm to resolve the issue.

I was reading my manual and it states in there that Bluetooth streaming is supported, however Ive still not be able to get this to work. Am I missing something?

I have a 2012 R-Spec, and I'm pared to a Note 5, which has the right Bluetooth frequency.

Any thoughts?

Your '12 R-spec has the Tech package. It does not stream Bluetooth audio. That is a separate feature from your Bluetooth phone connection. If you had a Base, or Premium package-only model, you would be able to stream BT audio. This shortcoming was corrected in the '13 Tech package models.
