  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

BMW 7 to 2015 Genesis

I also saw 2 Mercedes (S and E class) that had been traded in for this vehicle. I agree...that's impressive.

Are you sure they had been traded? Many cars on used lots are bought at auction.

This is what the manager confirmed, yes.

Mercedes are heavily discounted - an E350 can be had $10K off putting it not so out of range.

Not up here. List - $1000 is about the best one can do.

I look forward to data that backs that up.

There is plenty of data out there. Just do your own research on car trader.

Unless up here is the North Pole, list on an E350 would be an extreme case.

I guess Canada is the North pole then. :p

having just purchased a MB E350, i can confirm here in california that it is routine to get 10k off MSRP, and has been this way for years.

if you get a genesis with tech/signature/ultimate, you won't save much over a mercedes.

also, most people are swayed by the brand, and having the 3 point star on a car makes a car much more desirable in the eyes of the public.

So very true! I've had a lot of cars (my license plate is CARADCT) 1 Jag, 1 MB, 4 Lexus, 4 BMWs and (for me) I just opened my eyes to trying something out of the brand-image and found that this Hyundai has so much to offer over what I have owned in the past. Who knows...over time (just like with the other brands) perhaps Hyundai will also become a high-end brand name as they continue to define themselves to the public. Whether they do or not, there will always be the public who will continue to support the long-standing brands...despite whether they are better or not. I had an E320 with one of the first year's remodel of the car and rid it within 9 months. They simply couldn't get the electrical issues resolved for which were later to be discovered as a known problematic issue for that year. You can have good/bad years with any brand despite how long they've been around or their reputation. I live in CA as well...one of my friends is a lead foreman at Fletcher Jones MB in Newport Beach who share the same opinion having fixed many of the MB cars...good and bad years. I did take a look at their CLS-500...great looking car and the redesign of the new S class is so much better than its predecessor.
