  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone do this yet?

I want to add one, but i have no idea where to mount the thing.

a) a pillar mount is out-- the air bag is in there.
b) i really don't want to drill/screw into my dash on a car that has 300 miles on it.
c) even a small gauge would block some dash lights if mounted on the steering buckle.
d) ash tray area is simply out of view.

thoughts?

I'm trying to figure it out myself but the only real option is on the steering buckle and just use some tape too hold it down for now until they develope a place for it.

Its one of the most important items for a boosted car and nobody is making a pod for it. Instead there too busy developing performace parts for the motor.

hrm, that's not a bad idea.

which vent are you thinking? left by the window, or the left center vent above the radio?

I know a guy who's good with fiberglass (been doing custom high-end car audio for 10 years). I'll have to pick his brain over this.

Im thinking driver side, but i dunno, it all depends on whether or not you have to go mechanical or manual or if you can use and electric one and just hook it up to ecu and run power if its electric i think right side might be easier. Id want to keep Oem look though no apillar and no gay mounting has to look decent

there IS NO airbag in the "A" pillar. Yes there is a thing that says there a airbag there, but the airbag is actually in the headliner; same thing for the seat too.

A pillar isnt for me though ill be installing mine in the vent should be able to get a mold soon as my genny comes in.... been 5 days still waiting...

you could also think about building a custom gauge box for your dashboard and using velcro (sorry i'm not sure how to spell it) to hold it down i know someone who is doing that. or maybe a custom peice to fit into the little trey by the gear shift. i'm not sure im just throwing idea's around.

Nice upgrade for your Hyundai and which will surely provide you much better improved results for you. You can get upgraded with it.
Nice option for you.

^wut???

engrish??

im sure some one makes a scan tool for the OBDII port that is plug in and easily removable, that requires nothing being cut drilled replaced.

the map reading is only important for the cars ECU, is serves no purpose for the driver, except for the fact he can brag about his/her stock boost level, in a sub 30k car, with a $40 auto meter boost gauge and expect everybody to masturbate all over it.

if you are going to be going with a piggy-back or stand alone ecu, or any other kind of EFI tune-able device, then its time to add spaceship gauges so you know whats going on.

man having a plug in monitor to read boost off your obd 2 look's choppy, and if your going to install a boost gauge usually that means the person isn't planning on staying stock.... cause i sure didn't when i installed mine and i don't think a tiny tiny hole to fit a little vaccum line through your firewall to read boost isn't going to hurt anyones feelings

I know I'm rehashing an old post here, (seems like all of them are old now), and I noticed that my scanner doesn't read the boost through the ECU... I can only assume that it doesn't control it then, correct? Also there is a dude on eBay selling single gauge pods that take the place of that shelf-like thing directly above the stock gauges... Gerard monet is his ebay handle.
