  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have it, its a slightly noticeable difference in power, if you want some serious power gains look into the jb4
Thanks I think I’ll get the bms since the jb4 has so much additional things I will need/do.

You could get a jb4 and not do the spark plug or the Bluetooth. It comes on map 1 if I remember correctly and it’s like 30-40 more hp and like 60-80 tq I believe. The stock plugs can handle that no problem

Well my Bluetooth app for the jb4 on iPhone has finally updated to where I can input fuel bias values over 100. I believe the newest default is 120 so I’ll bump it up to a 125 and see how that runs

Hey guys, finally made it through the 60 pages on this tune lol.

It seems the JB4 is the best tune option for the G70 but I cant say I feel totally confident it will be problem free based on what I have read. I am looking for some guidance/reassurance before I pull the trigger.

I would probably be most interested in running map 2 and I have access to 93 octane so no issues with fuel. I'd like to attempt the spark plug change and JB4 install myself but I cant say I am handy with that stuff but that's for me to worry about. My biggest concern is the reliability of the car running on map 2, fuel efficiency drops, etc. Is this something to truly worry about or does that really only start when you push the higher maps?

Long story short, I'd like some quick power gains with minimal tinkering while keeping peace of mind. Is map 2 good for that or is map 1 the better option? If map 1 isn't noticeable from stock, then I work even bother. I really haven't even had time to "get used to" the stock speed this car offers aside from a few bursts as I am in the 600 mile break-in process....but like most of you running the tune, I will get hungry for more power soon lol.

Any advice/ideas are welcome!

Map 1 is definitely a noticeable difference. In my experience, I've got a mile or two per gallon more when using JB tunes - at least after the first week or two and I stopped smashing the gas pedal as much... I started using them 11 years ago with the JB+. I later upgraded to the JB3 and then JB4.

Well...something is wrong with my JB4.

I removed it last week...as I had to go get stuff calibrated after a windshield replacement. All was fine.

I was careful with everything as I always am.

Put it back in last night...but did not start the car.

Just went out to the store...care is stalling.

Getting a 106 code which is usually hookups.

Disconnected the Fuel Wires. Same thing. Disconnected everything...car runs fine.

All the plugs are nicely connected, etc.

I will play later...making sure there is no dust anywhere, etc. But if I get the connections 100%...what else could it be. I have not contacted Terry yet in case someone might have a hint on what to do. It is either one/both of the main hookups...or something with the JB4 internals

:(

Did you check the software and map setting? Perhaps do a software update on the jb4 and try after.

Does it have the same problem on Map 0?

I did not upgrade the software as all has been fine for months.

Map 0 the same. Good point...must be the connections than.

I will blow them out...pollen is everywhere in VA...and try again.

Not sure what else it could be.

Maybe take the JB4 apart and see if anything has come undone.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Which firmware you running? I think I reverted back to v15 from v16 or v17 .... I don't know how, but I had a code p0049 iirc, overboost or something. Check engine light came up and jb4 went to Map 0.
btw. the previous Map 5 is now Map 4

It's all good now.

JB4 stalling

Something similar on the Stinger forum. No resolution posted but Terry was on it right away.

I have not upgraded the firmware for over a year...all works fine.

Remember...a week ago all was fine. Sat on my workbench for almost a week.

I’ll clean the connectors with compressed air and try again.

I was tempted to update to the newest version but then thought why mess with it if it's working fine? I am still on version 12 and took mine out a couple weeks ago for my first service appointment. No problems after reinstall. 30% E85 and 93 on I guess what would be considered the old map 5.

Maybe rinse the JB4 under hot tap water just to make sure it's cleaned out? If that makes you nervous then use acetone.

A friend wants to know, does the JB4 deal that this site have going on include the custom wiring harness that makes it a bit more plug and play? Or is that separate?

(I'm post 1200 btw; not sure why I noticed that, but it seemed oddly congruent with the Universe)
