  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Calling All White Genesis Owners!!

Learned something else that is screwy, If you pay cash, you have to pay $1500 more. We live in a strange world.

How so?

If you want to use the competitor or loyalty discounts... you have to finance through Hyundai.

I got the competitor discount and paid cash in Sept. 2010 for my 2011 4.6.

I suppose, like all things, this would be subject to dealer discretion. However, it used to be in the fine print. The Hyundai link is conveniently not working right now... so I can't verify. I believe I saw it on some of my paperwork when I bought the car.

Thanks guys! I know that most dealers will also charge more for a cash deal because the finance manager loses that commission. It is actually kinda smart to take out a loan and then pay it off rather quickly :). That is my plan!

I have had my 2010 for eighteen months and it is easy to keep clean. Had the mud guards installed about three months after purchase and they help a lot. Have the tan interior because they did not have saddle which was my first choice

OK, Jeik, I can't resist....did you get the mud flaps with the big rubies and silver studs? Oh, Yessssss!!!!

Sorry, the devil made me say it.

Pay premimum to pay cash issue. I could have bought it on the credit, paid it off first month. I would have had to put the car in my name, then I would have had to pay sales tax again and title fee when transfering it to her name after a month. That would have been over 2 thousand. Better off to pay the 1500.:mad:

Just looked at a used '09 white satin pearl. The color of the front bumper was a shade off of the white color on the rest of the car. I asked the dealer if it had been replaced. They said it hadn't (no mention of it on CarFax either). The dealer blamed it on the different type of paint that's used on the bumper (more elasticity in the paint to absorb dings). I was wondering if any of you Pearl White Genesis owners have experienced the same thing? FWIW, the little notches on the front bumper match the color of the rest of the car, but the rest of bumper looks like it's yellowing.

Sounds fishy to me. Get your VIN # and do the following:

Go to hmaservice.com - sign up if you haven't already done so. Go to "Telematics Information" on the left side. Enter your VIN #. Check to see if any work was done to your car OTHER THAN a pre-delivery inspection. If something major happened to your car, you'll find it on there. It is common to see the driver's visor being replaced on there, for example.

Good luck, and keep us posted...

I have heard this mentioned many many time and am Very naive as to why. Care to elaborate?

Yes.

There is a TSB for it: DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR REPLACEMENT (SERVICE CAMPAIGN TH6)

Description: The driver side sun visor mirror cover may not open properly on some vehicles.

I've already done the hmaservice check. Nothing mentioned there about the front bumper replacement.

Glad I came across your post. I don't recall ever trying to use the mirror before last week - the cover only moved about half an inch. I would've taken the car to the dealer anyway but good to hear it's a known problem. Thanks.

Just bought a 2012 pearl white AWESOME look forward to reading up and giving advice as we put some miles on the car

Coming up on a year with our Pearl White, and love it! So far, the little bit of soot around the tailpipes cleans easily when washing the car. Certainly is the coolest color to have in the hot weather.
