I went to a local dealer yesterday to buy a Certified 2012 Genesis 5.0 with 38,000 miles on it. On the test drive, I noticed the check engine light. They said it was nothing and were going to bring it to the service department to have it checked out. I left. They called me and told me just as they suspected it was nothing. They said they code indicated low battery voltage and they simply charged the battery and the car is good to go. They said that that happens on car lots due to cars sitting. (I test drove the car two days in a row). I have never owned a foreign car so I really don't know if what they are saying makes sense. I really like the car but am afraid to make the plunge because of what happened. Anyone know anything about the CEL coming on just for a low battery?
