  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

quick google search gives me these generic obd2 codes

P0024 B Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2)
P0025 B Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)

sounds like a sensor going bad but not really sure I have never had anything to compare with.

Thx...I found the same thing. But not quite sure what the fixes are for this issue. Some mentioned that it could be the cam magnets, oil valve, the sensors, cvvt, the oil itself, and/or the oil filter.

Frankly, im lost. I need help.

With the variable cam timing on these cars and the associated sensor nightmare to run them I would bet on wiring/bad sensor. Dirty oil could interfer but it seems (to me) unlikely to cause those codes

Based on what I've seen with the 3.8 equipped Genesis Coupe back when I had mine, this is likely a sensor issue. It needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Thx. Im beginning to think that also. The CEL had been cleared twice on its own 2 times, but after 10miles for so, it came back on. I think the sensors are the problem. Anyhow, I already made an appt with the dealership this coming Monday. It is still under warranty. Hopefully will get the issue resolved.

Hello, I have the exact same scenario that you are describing on my Genesis Coupe. Can you please update on what the end result was once you took your car to the dealership?

Thanks,
Greg
