  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Considering 2013 Genesis Coupe Track ... questions

Even though the Corvette is much more money it has a v8 with more horsepower and most owners are saying that it gets about the same miles per gallon as the Genesis in real-world driving. So I guess my concern is that the technology is there to make a fast car without sacrificing fuel economy.

The 2013 Corvette's curb weight is 3208lbs versus 3527 for the 2013 3.8 Track. That's over 300lbs of difference. Also, the Corvette has taller gearing. Just these two things alone lends to good highway fuel economy.

Call me biased, but the 2010-2012 Coupe will be a classic, game-changing design to last for years, and yes, the 2013 is butt fugly by comparison (sorry, 13'ers). The 2013 tail lights stick out too much, and the Veloster-style front end is a real step down in styling for what the Coupe should be - still a great car, though!

I say you should get a 10-12 3.8 R-Spec/Track used, preferably in black, take out the carbon filter, put Top Tier gas in it, and enjoy the fact that with a resulting est. 325+ HP and perfect handling balance, there are very few daily cars out there that are notably faster ;)

Oh, the 3.8 R-Spec is about 3200-3300 curb pounds, depending on how full the tank is (I rarely fill it), and I can also get as much as 30MPG, but more often it's around 22-27...

I bought a 2013 3.8 Track and I love it. The font end grows on you and there are now a few aftermarket options for front bumpers. The DRLs look mean on the track and I love the way the car handles.. with all the features WITH the 348HP... you cant beat it!
