  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know this is the opposite of what everyone asks about, but I really do not like the cold white light of the interior dome lights (2012 4.6). I haven't taken them apart, but from all the other threads on interior lighting I read, it sounds like there is not a standard socket in there that I could plug a regular bulb into?

Correct, the socket is not a screw in thread like a regular incandescent. With that being said, LEDs don't have to be that cold operating room white either. You can get warm colored LEDs to replace the cold LEDs that are in there now. I think that would be the easiest, cheapest, and would have the best results for you.
Just take the time to research what bulb and color temperature you want.

Duh! I don't know why I didn't think of that! I even just ordered some brighter lights for the trunk, I probably could have gotten them from the same place. Thanks for the tip!

If you are able to convert it let me know which bulbs you used and how you got them out. I opened the dome light lens to look at the bulb because my bulb was dimming randomly and I couldn't figure out how to get it out.

Ugh. Just read another post where someone swapped out the lights to blue, and it doesn't look simple. Probably not worth it at this point, but I really don't like feeling like I'm in a tanning booth everytime those things come on....
Maybe I'll see if I can put some kind of film inside the lens to diffuse the light.

Can you switch them out with some of the warmer exterior lights?
There are at least 4 warm colored exterior lights on the car, 2 for the license plate and two on the underside of the driver/passenger door. Can we just take those and put them inside, then take the cool colored lights from inside and just put them in place of the outside ones?

This would be mega easy and wouldn't cost anything, I just haven't looked at all the fixtures yet.
