I was the proud owner of a new 2.0T...it lasted about two weeks when the car starting revolting. First, the hood. I should have noticed it the night I bought it but was in a hurry to get home after waiting two hours to sign the paperwork. BUT, I did notice it and brought to the attention of the dealership. I also started do some research online about this issue. It seems, it is not just me. A lot of folks are seeing the same problem...what is the problem you ask:
Take a look at this photo..(not mine). Look at the drivers side near the headlight. Now, look at the other head light. You will see a larger gap on the drivers side. EVERY Coupe I have seen has this large gap. On mine, it allows the hood to bounce up and down while drive. More than once, I have had to pull over to make sure the hood was latched. My concern, beyond it being an appearance issues is this, if the hood does not fit properly, it may not latch properly. My car has been in the shop 7 times for this and Hyundai has not been able to resolve the issue and has gone as far as to say it is normal.
I ask that if your car has this issue, please say so to your service folks. Also, drop me a line at GCoupehood@gmail.com. I want Hyundai to fix this issue for all of us, not just me. I think it takes away from the beautiful lines of the car and may be a potential safety issue. I am not an engineer and may be off my rocker here. I fly jets for a living and if I saw misaligned panel on an airplane, I would not take it. If a passenger saw it, I would get the airplane on the ground as soon as I could. Things that are supposed to fit right..should.
This needs to be a group effort. Look at your hood and report back. If you have already done so on other forums, do not repost that you have the same issue. I want to make sure the numbers are right.
