  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thanks to the wonderful job of the MDOT (not!) I need a new left front rim. Does anyone have access to pricing for replacement rims (18") yet?
The dealer seems a bit slow or the car is too new.
Not even 800mls on it and now this. I hate Michigan roads.

Thx,
Frank:mad:

That really blows....I feel your pain.....we got some giant ones here in NW PA....I would imagine that wheel is gonna be pretty expensive.

Call your City Hall / maintenance department and touch base about compensation. Depending on the policy over there, they may cover the costs of such events on public roads.

the wheel is 367.- plus tire mount/ balancing. hopefully the tire is fine. no bulging or tears visible, but you never know. The RE92A's are expensive, especially for such a crappy tire...

If you get offered the road hazard insurance, take it. One bent wheel pays for it already.

The roads are now ALL under construction, what madness. and the potholes are getting so big that you can mess up a car really bad if you drive in it.
I just hit a patch where the asphalt had peeled off and the hole was very shallow. Still too much, though.

2 more days, then its back to normal.

Don't feel bad.....back in the early 90's I bent one of my front 14 inch OEM wheels on my MR2 and Toyota wanted 930.00 a Piece. Junk yard wanted 630.00:( Yes...for 14 inch wheel

all fixed

new rim, tire is ok, alignment. Ready to break the 1000 mls tomorrow. Getting closer to complete the breakin and then start playing around...:D

Y'know, when I bought my car, I paid the extra $350 to get the tire/rim protection plan. For 5 years and an unlimited amount of miles, if you damage a rim or tire, Hyundai replaces it free.

Well worth the money.

I got that now, too. But mine was 299.-, tire, rim, install, alignment and rental car included.

Gah! They got me for $50. I'm sure that other stuff is included, but I was mainly concerned with getting my wheel and tire replaced. Learned that lesson the hard way on my last car.

you probably got the higher amount for the daily rental car cost. that was 50.- more.
Anyways, i never had a tire/rim issue before, but that was on 75 series tires on big ole american iron...

I had a blowout on my last car. And as anyone with an AWD vehicle knows, you can't mix and match brands and it's recommended that you change ALL the tires. It wound up costing me $900.

Lesson learned.
